Applications are invited for the following purely temporary posts in DIT sponsored project entitled “Indian Language Corpora Initiative (ILCI)”. The project duration is 2.5 years.

The Project is aiming to develop parallel aligned corpora for Indian Languages from Hindi to Kannada, Part of Speech tagging of Kannada texts and chunking, dictionary.

Applications are invited for the following posts possessing specified requirements;

1. Name of the post : Senior Linguist
Number of post : 1
Honorarium : Rs. 30,000 per month
Educational Qualification : M.Phil. or equivalent in Kannada language/ Linguistics /English/Sanskrit/ Language Technology.
Job Requirements : Assist the linguists to translate from Hindi to Kannada. Validate Part of Speech tagging and chunking of Kannada language text. Involve in translation and chunking activities. Experience in basic computer skills/DTP/ Language Technology/NLP is essential.

2.Name of the post : Language Editor
Number of post : 2
Honorarium : Rs. 10,000 per month
Educational Qualification : Any Bachelor’s degree
Job Requirements : Knowledge of data entry in Unicode (Kannada). Exposure to INSCRIPT key board layout, Computer basics is essential.
