1. Senior Process Engineer (utilities) :
Location : Bahrain

Job Description :
** To provide technical support and services with the guidance of the Process Specialist Utilities under the process engineering function of Technical Services Department, to all utility and associated systems in the refinery
** To improve the efficiency, safety and reliability of utilities and associated facilities and systems of Bapco within the Operational Excellence Management System
** To monitor and evaluate performance of utility systems of the refinery namely : utility boilers and power generation, gas and steam turbines, desalination plants, heat recovery steam generators of process units, cooling towers, boiler and cooling water treatment and chemistries, effluent treatment, fuel gas distribution, flare gas systems, oil storage tanks and transfer systems, and associated facilities
** To troubleshoot process and equipment related problems
** To identify opportunities and conduct studies related to improvement in performance, safety and reliability of processes and equipment
** To support specialist groups dealing with energy conservation and environmental matters
** To prepare budget forecasts and monitor performance of fuels and chemicals
** To lead the procurement effort of process and utility chemicals and monitor their usage which involves close coordination with suppliers and their site representatives
** To provide process support to the operation of oil storage and export facilities
** To carry out inspection of equipment during shutdowns and turnarounds of facilities associated with utilities and oil storage
** To train and develop other technical staff

Desired Candidate Profile :
Education :
** UG – B.Sc – Any Specialization, B.Tech/B.E. – Any Specialization, Chemical
** PG – Any Postgraduate – Any Specialization, Post Graduation Not Required

** Hold a BSc, BE, B.Tech. or higher Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University
** Have at least 6 years of relevant experience, including process engineering support for Utilities and associated areas in a petroleum refinery, power plant or similar facility
** Have a sound understanding and solid practical knowledge of Utilities systems and interactions with downstream consumers – expert knowledge of one or more of steam generation, water treatment, cooling towers, effluent treatment, and oil storage and transfer will be an advantage
** Have excellent verbal and written communications skills
** Be able to adapt to a multicultural working environment

2. Senior Chemist Relief (refinery Laboratory) :
Location : Bahrain

Job Description:
** Promote safe working practices and a healthy lifestyle in the Laboratory workforce
** Improve operating efficiencies
** Continue the development of next generation of leadership within the Laboratory teams
** Support the current Chief Chemist in implementing performance enhancement initiatives
** Stand-in for the Chief Chemist during vacations and extended absences, assuming all technical and administrative responsibilities for the Laboratory. The Chief Chemist coordinates and controls the Laboratorys activities so that accurate and timely data are safely provided to assure the company and its customers of the quality of Bapcos products and enabling the Process Units to be controlled optimally
** Provide relief cover for the Senior Chemists supervising the Quality Control Section, Analytical Laboratory, and Special Testing and Laboratory Services
** Supervise the day shift teams
** Support and guide QA system enhancements, including improved application of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Technology
** The Training Specialist in the Laboratory co-ordinates all the Laboratory Staff training requirements and reports to the Senior Chemist Relief.

** Be qualified to at least a BSc degree level or equivalent, in chemistry or a related subject.
** Have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience working at a senior level in a modern petroleum testing laboratory operating an internationally recognised Quality Management System.
** Have at least 5 years of experience in managing a Laboratory management role
** Have a broad knowledge of petroleum product testing to international standards
** Have a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of petroleum testing methods for crude oil, refinery process streams and a full range of finished petroleum products.
** Be fully conversant with calibration and standardisation methods and practices needed for petroleum laboratory analysers and equipment.
** Be knowledgeable and experienced in the laboratory environmental, fire, health and safety protocols.
** Be computer-literate and conversant with the use of laboratory information systems.
** Have excellent written and spoken English.
** Be self-driven, a clear thinker and have strong organisational and administrative skills and strong leadership qualities,
** Have a proven ability to effectively manage and motivate a multicultural and multi-ethnic workforce
** Have good interpersonal qualities, be able to communicate effectively at all levels and be able to train and motivate a multi-disciplinary team of Laboratory staff.
** Be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines and work well in teams
** Have experience of Laboratory Project Management, Coordination and Reorganisation.
** Possess a good working knowledge of product shipping routines and blending operations
** Have knowledge of ISO 17025 and its implementation
