We at IPSS understand the importance of Training in private sector. To attain this objective, we make sure that all our security personnel including field staff undergo basic training of 7 days before deployment. Our Training is covered under following categories:—
(a) Basic Training
(b) On Job Training
(c) Specialized
(d) Refresher Training

BASIC TRAINING :
This is imparted for a duration of 21 days as per PSAR Act covering the following: –
(a) Drill – General movements
(b) (Service conditions, Uniforms & Equipment) HR Policies
(c) Code of conduct
(d) Gate house duties
(e) Telephone handling and etiquettes
(f) Staff and visitors handling
(g) Escorting of VIPs
(h) Search and frisking of persons
(i) Personal Hygiene and essential House Keeping duties
(j) Car parking and Traffic control
(k) Conduct in Public and correct wearing of uniform
(l) Physical fitness training
(m) Physical security, security of the assets, security of the building/apartment, personal security
(n) Fire Fighting
(o) Crowd Control
(p) Examining identification papers including identity cards, passports and smart cards
(q) Should be able to read and understand English alphabets and Roman numerals as normally encountered in the identification documents, arms license, travel documents and security inspections sheet
(r) Identification of improvised explosive devices
(s) First Aid
(t) Crisis response and disasters management
(u) Rudimentary knowledge of Indian Penal code, right to private defense, procedure for lodging first information report in police station, Arms Act (only operative sections); Explosive Act (Operative Sections)
(v) Badges of rank in police and military forces
(w) Identification of difference types of arms in use in public and Police
(x) Use of security equipments and devices (for eg: security alarms and screening equipments)
(y) Leadership and management (for supervisors only)
(z) Observations, handling unidentified objects, conducting anti-sabotage checks, handling equipments and special requirement for those who have to do body protection

ON-JOB TRAINING :
Every fortnight “On Job Training” is performed at all the sites. Following topics will be covered :-
(a) Control of men and material (In & Out)
(b) Issue of passes & checking of ID Cards
(c) Telephone handling and etiquettes
(d) Liaison with Police and Fire Brigades
(e) Patrolling of premises & dwelling units
(f) Car Parking and Traffic Control
(g) Visitors handling
(h) Source of theft and pilferage

SPECIALIZED TRAINING :
Following aspects which may be specific to the site will be covered :-
(a) Operation of lifts
(b) Operation of Generator
(c) House Keeping Duties
(d) Fire Fighting and Evacuation process
(e) Traffic Control during events & Parties
(f) Access Control / tail get in
(g) CCTV monitoring
(h) Evacuation Procedures (Emergency procedures)
(i) Risk management
(j) Bomb Threat
(k) VIP Movement

REFRESHER TRAINING :
The Supervisory staff and Guards are put through refresher training on monthly basis, during which all the aspects of duties are revised to ensure that their professional level is maintained at the required level. The staff found not taking interest in training and performance of his duties are weeded out after having been given due notices.
