Central Government declared National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) as Educational Authority to define / finalize eligibility and service conditions for the appointment as primary Teacher. Accordingly NCTE declared educational & professional qualifications and compulsory teacher Eligibly test for the appointment as primary teacher.

State of Maharashtra implemented Right to education Act from 1st April 2010. State of Maharashtra defined professional and educational qualifications and compulsory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) according to NCTE guidelines by Government Resolution dated 13th February 2013. Procedure of conducting TET fixed by Government Resolution dated 23 August 2013 and responsibility of conducting examination is handed over to the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations, Pune.

Eligibility :
Please refer to Government of Maharashtra GR dated 13-Feb-2013
The following persons shall be eligible for appearing in the TET:
i. A person who has acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the Government of Maharashtra Resolution dated 13 Feb. 2013.
ii. A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the appropriate authority, as the case may be) specified in the of Maharashtra Resolution dated 13 Feb. 2013.

Qualifying Marks :
A person who scores 60% or more in the TET exam will be considered as TET pass.
A person belonging to SC,ST,VJ,NT,OBC, differently abled persons, who scores 55% or more in the TET exam will be considered as TET pass.

Structure and Content :
The structure and content of the TET is given in the following paragraphs. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. The

There will be two papers of the TET. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a teacher either for classes I to V or for classes VI to VIII will have to appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Fees Structure :
Catagory : Open, OBC, SBC and VJNT
Only Paper I or Only Paper II : Rs.500/-
Paper I and Paper II both : Rs.800/-

Catagory : SC, ST and Differently abled person
Only Paper I or Only Paper II : Rs. 250/-
Paper I and Paper II both : Rs. 400/-

  3. I AM FROM THANE DISTRICT. I PASSED TET 2014 EXAM WITH 96 MARKS. SO, I VISITED THANE EDUCATION OFFICE FOR TET CERTIFICATE. THEY SAID, THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CERTIFICATE FROM MSCE, PUNE. MY NATIVE DISTRICT IS WARDHA, SO I INQUIRED WARDHA EDUCATION OFFICE. THEY ALSO REPLIED THE SAME. SO, NOW MY REQUEST IS, PLEASE GIVE DUPLICATE TET CERTIFICATE AS I HAVE DOCUMENT VERIFICATION OF TEACHERS RECRUITMENT PROCESS.

    1. Procedure to get registration number:
      1. Go to Maharastra State Teachers Eligibility Test home page.
      2. Click Forgot Registration No. button.
      3. Enter Applicant’s Name,Date of Birth,SSC Certificate No and Caste Category
      4. Click Send Registration No button.

  15. What is the validity period for TET qualified certificate?

    1. The Validity Period of TET qualifying certificate is seven years for all categories form the date of award of certificate.

    1. I think the syllabus is not mentioned in the advertisement.But There will be two papers of the TET. Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
