Short term Fellowship in Phacoemulsification :
Phaco Training :
This fellowship is aimed at practicing experienced ophthalmologists who wish to acquaint themselves with the technique of Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery.

The course is mostly hands on in phaco techniques. The phaco training will be done by a senior ophthalmologist catering to the specific skill level of the trainee in phaco.

Candidates with prior experience in SICS and those who have already mastered capsulorrhexis will benefit as they will get to progress faster and can do more phaco surgeries. There will be a “one on one” supervision and based on the candidate’s level of progress the supervisor may choose to allow the candidate to perform phaco surgeries independently.

The number of phaco surgeries one can perform will depend on the candidates progress and comfort level and the supervising surgeon’s observations.

There is no fixed upper limit to the number of phaco surgeries that a trainee can perform.
