Notice for Admission to the Ph. D. Programme in Mathematics
Applications are invited from the citizens of India for the semester commencing January 2014

Name of the course : Ph. D. Programme
Age: Preferably not more than 28 years as on January 1, 2014

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in mathematics or statistics with a minimum of 55% marks or CGPA 5.5 along with qualification in one of the following tests: GATE, NET, NBHM; or any other recognized test; or INSPIRE Fellowship for Ph. D.

Fellowships: Financial aid (Assistantship/Scholarship) as per rule
Reservation: According to Government of India norms

Broad Research Areas:
(i) Harmonic analysis,
(ii) Differential geometry,
(iii) Group theory,
(iv) Number theory,
(v) Noncommutative algebra,
(vi) Topology,
(vii) Classical algebraic geometry,
(viii) Dynamical systems
(ix) Operator algebras.

Selection Procedure: The selection procedure for admission into the PhD program will be based on the performance of the candidate by an interview
