Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute was established by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust in the year 1985 as a private non-profit, self-financing Institution dedicated to serve the society as a Centre of Excellence with emphasis on Medical Education, Research and Healthcare. In view of its academic excellence, the Government of India declared, Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute as a Deemed University in September, 1994 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The nomenclature of the Institution has been changed to Sri Ramachandra University from December 2006. The Trust achieved the task of establishing this institution as a “Centre of Excellence” under the leadership of Late Shri. N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar who was the Founder & Managing Trustee of the Trust and also the first Chancellor of the Deemed University. Shri.V.R. Venkataachalam is currently the Chancellor of the University and also the Managing Trustee of the Trust.

Duration Of The Courses:
i. Postgraduate Degree courses is three academic years.
ii. M.Ch. Neuro Surgery (6 years) Degree course is six academic years.

Eligibility:Qualification
Group-A & Group-B :
i) Every candidate must
(a) possess recognised MBBS Degree and have completed Internship(CRRI); and
(b) have permanent registration of his/her name with any one of the State Medical Council.
(ii) However, candidates who are presently undergoing internship and who are likely to complete it on or before 31-03-2014 are also eligible to apply subject to production of a certificate as specified in Page No.13. Such candidates shall have to produce permanent Registration Certificate from any State Medical Council in India within a month from the date of admission.

GROUP-C :
(i) Every candidate should have
(a) Passed B.D.S. Degree Examination of any recognised University and completed Compulsory Rotatory Internship (CRI); and
(b) Registered his/her name with any one of the State Dental Council.
(ii) However, candidates who are presently undergoing Internship and who are likely to complete it on or before 31-03-2014 are also eligible to apply subject to production of a certificate as specified in page No.13. Such candidates shall have to produce permanent Registration Certificate from any State Dental Council in India within a month from the date of admission.

Application Fee : Demand Draft for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) drawn in favour of “Sri Ramachandra University” payable at Chennai

Entrance Examination Centre: The candidates have to appear for the Entrance Examination at SRI RAMACHANDRA UNIVERSITY, PORUR, CHENNAI – 600 116 at their own expense.

Date Of Entrance Examination : The Entrance Examination will be conducted on the date mentioned below. The candidates are advised to be at the Examination Centre an hour before the commencement of the Examination
Group-A & Group-B : 25-01-2014 (Saturday) 10.00 am. to 1.00 p.m.
GROUP-C : 25-01-2014 (Saturday) 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

How to Apply :
i) The downloaded application duly filled in should be sent with all enclosures in a A4 size envelope.

ii) Entrance Examination application form duly filled in and securely fastened with the above enclosures may be submitted in person or sent by Registered Post/Speed Post/ Courier Service to reach ;
