IIT Jodhpur invites applications for admissions to the PhD programmes in the following disciplines
1. Computer Science and Engineering
2. Electrical Engineering (Including Electrical, Electronics and Communication)
3. Mechanical Engineering
4. Physics
5. Chemistry
6. Mathematics
7. Philosophy, Economics, English, Psychology
8. Materials Science
9. Biological and Cognitive Sciences
for the semester commencing from December 2013.

At present interdisciplinary research in areas of Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences are conducted under the following research centres
1. Centre of Excellence in Biologically Inspired Systems Science
2. Centre of Excellence in Energy
3. Centre of Excellence in Information and Communication Technology
4. Centre of Excellence in Systems Science

Minimum Educational Qualification :
i. Ph.D. (Engineering): M.Tech./ME/M. Sc. (Engg.) degree or equivalent B. Tech/BE/M. Sc. degree with a valid GATE score.

ii. Ph.D. (Sciences and HSS): M.Sc./M.A. Degree in respective or equivalent area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score.

iii. Part-time/Sponsored Category Candidates: Three years of relevant experience is needed for those with M. Tech degree and five years of relevant experience is needed for those with B. Tech or M. Sc. degree. This category is only for those who are working in research labs or in similar institutions. Please note that no financial assistance will be provided under this category.

Financial Assistance:Financial Assistance in the form of assistantship/ scholarship/ fellowship for a specified duration will be provided to eligible Ph.D. students (FULL TIME) as per the Institute norms or as per the funding agency norms (UGC / CSIR / DBT/ NBHM/ INSPIRE) of the assistantship.

Processing fee :Demand draft drawn from a nationalized bank in favour of “Director, IIT Jodhpur” payable at Jodhpur
General/ OBC candidates : Rs.300/-
SC/ST/PD candidates : Rs.150/-
