Admission to Professional Degree Course 2014 in Post Basic BSc Nursing :
Aims of SI-MET :
1 Promote teaching, research and development in the field of medical education, Medical science, technology and their interfaces.
2 Generate, transfer and propagate knowledge in Medical, Nursing and Paramedical fields.
3 Run institutions in the three systems – Modern Medicine, Ayurveda and Homoeopathy.
4 Establish and run hospitals, laboratories, sub-centres etc.
5 Conduct lectures, seminars, courses and organize symposia, conferences, workshops, inservice training etc. in the fields related to medical education, medical sciences, technology and their interfaces.

Academic Eligibility:
a. Candidate should have passed +2/Equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. They should have also passed the qualifying examination ie General Nursing and Midwifery Course, from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and concerned State Councils with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted.
b. Candidates as per Clause 4.1.a. shall have obtained registration with the Kerala Nurses and Mid-wives Council and copy of the registration certificate is to be submitted at the time of submission of application. Candidates who have studied outside Kerala shall have to submit copy of the registration certificate of the concerned nursing council of the state from where they have qualified, along with their application and shall have to produce their registration certificate in original obtained from Kerala State Nursing Council at the time of admission.

Age :
1 The upper age limit for candidate shall be 48 years as on the last date for submission of application.
2 Self-attested copy of relevant page of school record namely SSLC/ICSE/CBSE certificate showing date of Birth/Copy of the birth certificate from appropriate authority should be furnished along with the application as proof of age.

Selection :
a. Selection of the candidates will be done based on the merit
b. Candidates should bring all the documents in original for verification at the time of counselling.
c. Admission to management seats will be conducted on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination or after conducting entrance examination subject to the decision of the Government in the matter.

How To Apply :
1 Issue of application form and prospectus : The application forms and Prospectus can be obtained from the following offices of SI-MET on all working hours on payment of Rs. 500/- directly or by post by sending DD for Rs.550/-, drawn in favour of the “Director, SI-MET” payable at Thiruvananthapuram

2 Cash receipt will be issued from the office of SI-MET / College concerned, towards the application form fee. The original receipt shall be produced at the time of admission. Photocopy of the fee receipt should be submitted together with the application for admission

3 Candidates can obtain application forms and prospectus by downloading the same from the official website of SI-MET and submit filled up application together with D.D for Rs.550/- drawn in favour of Director, SI-MET payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

4 Submission of application form: Duly filled application form along with the necessary documents shall be submitted to the following address- directly /by Registered post/Speed post on or before 16.06.2014; 5 pm.

5 For NRI candidates relationship certificate mentioned in clause 2.2.c
6 Service experience certificate for nurses working in Government (state, central, G.H, PHCs) for the purpose of weight age marks vide reference to experience.
