Kalpana Chawla Award 2014 :
1 :The “Kalpana Chawla Award” for Courage and Daring Enterprise will be presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to a woman who is a native of Tamil Nadu during the Independence Day Celebrations 2014. This award carries a cheque for Rs.5.00 lakhs and a Medal.
2 : A comprehensive bio-data and application with all relevant particulars and supporting documents may be sent to the Principal Secretary to Government, Public Department, Secretariat, Chennai-600 009, on or before 30.06.2014. Padma Awards 2015 :
1 :The Padma Awards, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, are amongst the highest civilian awards of the country. Instituted in 1954, these awards are announced on the occasion of the Republic Day every year. The award seeks to recognize ‘work of any distinction’ and is given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields /disciplines, such as, Art, Literature and Education, Sports, Medicine, Social Work, Science and Engineering, Public Affairs, Civil Service, Trade and industry etc. All persons without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex are eligible for these awards.
2 :The nominations for the year 2015 in the prescribed proforma with citation and supporting documents may be sent to the Principal Secretary to Government, Public Department, Secretariat, Chennai-600 009, before 31.07.2014. The notification may also be downloaded from the website http://www.tn.gov.in. The eligible nominations will be recommended to the Government of India after scrutinized by the Selection Committee, constituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
