shOObh Photography Contest 2014 :
do you have a camera…do you have a photographic memory that was never developed….a scene…you feel is profound, beautiful or simply comical.. JUST CLICK & submit it to us…..The rest, as they say, will go down in history….So, if you think you are good at photography & want to prove it, just come to this event.

Fee : No Participation Fee

Contest period :
The Contest begins at 12 :00 a.m. on April 13, 2014 & ends at 11:59 p.m. on July 31, 2014 (the “Contest Period”). The Contest Period consists of an image submission phase that begins at 12:00 a.m. on April 13, 2014 & ends at 11:59 p.m. on July 31, 2014 (the “Image Submission Phase”); & a judging phase (“Judging Phase”) that begins at 12:00 a.m. on August 1, 2014 & ends at 11:50 p.m. on August 15, 2014.

Eligibility Criteria :
(a) Participants must be bona fide students of the school / Open School/ Special School they participate through. {Category : A-D}
(b) Participant could also be a foreign national.

Guidelines for Entries :
1. A maximum of 2 ENTRIES PER CATEGORY PER PARTICIPANT shall be entertained. Any entries beyond the specified limit shall be disqualified.

Participant can submit the best Photograph in categories mentioned below :
Group- Classification :
A-Standard 3rd – 5th
B-Standard 6th – 8th
C-Standard 9th – 10th
D-Standard 11th – 12th
E-Open Over 21 years (School/ College teachers, PSU, Corporate etc.)

3. Photograph Requirements :
(a) Must adhere to all listed Technical Specifications set forth below.
(b) Must be the participant’s original photograph.
(c) Must not infringe on any other person’s or entity’s rights.
(d) Must comply with the Terms & Conditions.

4. Technical Specifications :
(a) File size upto 4 MB
(b) Format : JPG
(c) All images must be available at 300dpi, even if the image is at a lower dpi.
(d) Entries can only be sent in Email shoobhphotographycontest AT gmail.com OR CD/ Pen drive/ Print through post at shOObh Group Welfare Society, 10, CSC, Pocket-E, Mayur Vihar-2, Delhi-110091, India.
5. Failure of any photograph to comply with the guidelines shall result in disqualification. Any submission that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, & obscene or otherwise does not comply with the rule & regulation of the competition will be disqualified.
6. Each entry should be original, entirely done individually & should not have been previously submitted to any other competition or exhibited in any other forum.
7. Photograph may have a story, but should the story not exceed 250 words & must be written in English/ Hindi.
8. The entry form should be filled up & completed in Hindi/English, or be accompanied by a translation in Hindi/English.
9. Attach a copy of the form with the photograph, complete the form in your own hand writing along with signature of the Principal/ authorized signatory of the with stamp when submitting the photograph.
10. Liability : All prints are submitted at the participant’s own risk. The organizers cannot accept liability for any loss of or damage occurring to any entries, whether this occurs in transit or while in the keeping, although every care will be taken.
11. Limit one prize per participant.
12. All entrants not complying with the rules will be disqualified. The organizer’s decision shall be final & binding.

Adjudication :
The submissions will be judged on the basis of :
(a) Originality & creativity.
(b) Relevance to the contest theme.
(c) Added value brought to the theme.

IMP :
By entering this competition entrants will be deemed to have read these rules & agree to be bound by them. Organizer reserves the right to vary, cancel or modify the competition or its terms & conditions in whole or part at any time.

Selection processes :
A Panel of judges shall select the 3 (THREE) most outstanding Photographs.

Prize & Certificate of Merit :
Three selected finalists in each category will receive a Medal & Certificate of Merit.

Handling of the Entries & Intellectual Property :
Participant retains ownership of the copyright in any submitted photographs. However, by entering photograph(s) in this Contest, participant grants organizer the irrevocable, perpetual right to edit, adapt, use & publish in any media now known or hereafter discovered any or all of the photographs without compensation to the participant, his or her successors or assigns, or any other entity. ENTERING A SUBMISSION IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES PARTICIPANT’S IRREVOCABLE ASSIGNMENT, CONVEYANCE, & TRANSFERENCE TO SPONSOR OF THE FOREGOING RIGHTS. The winner shall work with Sponsor to change the file in any way deemed necessary for publication of the photograph. The participants shall supply, upon request, original, unmodified digital files.
