PROVISIONAL SELECTION LIST FOR ADMISSION INTO DIPLOMA COURSES IN THE POLYTECHNICS OF ASSAM AND STATE QUOTA OF SEATS OUTSIDE ASSAM FOR THE SESSION 2014-15 :

1. The candidates who have secured marks mentioned below in the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) -2014 held on 4th May 2014 are to appear in the Interview as per programme given for respective categories for final selection for admission, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions in the Polytechnics of Assam.

2. Candidates seeking admission will have to appear before an admission-cum-interview board for final selection on the date and time shown against the Category Wise result list given below at the premises of Assam Engineering Institute, Chandmari, Guwahati. All candidates must bring with them.
(i) Part-B of the Form duly and properly filled in (ii) Original Mark sheets, (iii) three copies of recent passport size photographs and (iv) all the relevant certificates including Admit Card of Polytechnic Admission Test -2014 for scrutiny, by the interview board. All the attested copies of documents are to be signed by the candidates on the front side of the documents.

3. Candidates once admitted in one Polytechnic shall not be considered for admission in another Polytechnic. However, for the seats allotted by the Govt. of India as mentioned in Clause-10 below, candidates can appear in the interview for outside state seat by surrendering the earlier seats of the State Polytechnic of Assam.

4. The polytechnic Admission Test-2014 merit list under different reserved categories has been prepared on the basis of the information furnished by the candidates in the Online Application form. The candidates selected under various categories of the reservation should come for interview only, if they possess eligibility certificate issued by the competent authority for the relevant category as prescribed in the Online Information Brochure.

5. The institution and the branch will be decided on the basis of merit and category of the Polytechnic Admission Test-2014, preference of the candidates and availability of seats in the Polytechnics at the time of interview. The candidates finally selected will have to get admitted on the same date of the interview on payment of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred ) only as a token and the remaining fees will be collected at the time of reporting in the institutions.

6. Candidates of different reserved categories whose roll nos. are in the merit list of reserved category are also placed in the General Merit list in the respective positions.

7. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories whose roll nos. appeared in the General Merit list may also report in the date for the General category candidates.

8. Candidates can take admission once only either as General Category or as Reserve Category. Candidate once taken admission in any one category will not be allowed to take admission in any other category.

9. Admitted candidates are to attend classes from 17-07-2014 positively.

10. The reserved seats of Assam quota in the Institutions outside the State will also be filled up from the merit list of PAT-2014. The reserved seats are as follows :- Printing Technology -4, Cinematography-1, Electronics & Comm. Engg.-7, Interior Décor (Girls’)-3, Commercial Practice (Girls’)-2, Man Made Fibre Tech.-4, Fisheries Tech.-1, CA-CD-DM (Girls) Architecture Engg.-2, Textile Process-3 & Architecture Assistantship-allotted by GOVT. OF. INDIA.

11. Candidates in the waiting lists will be admitted only, if vacancies arises after admission from Merit Lists. No claim in this respect will be entertained if there is no vacancy of seat in Polytechnics after completion of admission. However, if vacancy arises due to withdrawal of seat by any candidate in any category, then it will be filled up from that category as a ‘ No branch’ student in that particular institution.

Note :
(i) For admission into Diploma courses the candidates must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject with :-
(a) 40% (average) marks in Mathematics and Science for General candidates.
(b) 35% (average) marks in Mathematics and Science for SC candidates.
(c) 33% (average) marks in Mathematics and Science for ST candidates.
(ii) Final position of the candidates having same marks will be decided at the time of interview/ on the basis of total marks secured in Science and Mathematics of H.S.L.C. examination and in the event of tally, on the basis of aggregate marks of the qualifying examination and if again there is a tally, then the seat will be filled up by lottery among those candidates by the Chairman of the counselling Committee in presence of the candidates.

12. Please note: If a candidate is absent on the day of Counseling, he/she will not be considered in the subsequent Counseling (if any) under any circumstances and such requests will not be entertained at Directorate of Technical Education, Assam

N.B. :- At the time of Admission, the Original 10th Admit Card and Mark sheet will be retained at the respective institute where the student takes admission for six months
