Procedure For Grant Of Licence :
Prior to the issuance of a license for manufacture, sell, stock, distribute any food article or any food additive used in manufacture of food, the registration of premises of any commercial unit proposed to be utilized as manufacturing unit, store, shop etc. is obligatory. After its registration a form “Form ‘A’ under rule 5” is to be filled by the applicant (who should be adult) in a prescribed format available for the purpose of issuance of fresh license. It is compulsory that the applicant should mention the trade for which he intending to seek the license. Any objectionable, ambiguous or misleading trade name shall not be approved by the licensing authority. Subsequent to this a Food Inspector shall inspect the premises and satisfy itself that the conditions of license are fulfilled.

C. Manufacturing Units :
** Ice
** Ice Cream
** Aerated water, bottled water, soft drink, non-alcoholic drink
** Sweets
** Namkeen
** Bakery and confectionery
** Vegetable oil products
** Canned food, mutton ,jams ,pickles
** Flour mill/Atta Chakki/Dal/Spices
D. Storage and Sale :
** Kiryana goods and dry fruits
** Bakery and confectionary products
** Aerated water, bottled water, soft drink, non-alcoholic drink
** Namkeen
** Milk and milk products
** Ice depots
** Ice cream parlor
** Ghee, edible oils including edible vegetable oils (whole sale and retail) and edible fats including margarine

For Issue of new Licenses :
1. Licenses issue validity period= 1 year
2. License fee calculation (for trades established or to be established) = as per schedule
For Renewal of License :
1.Licenses renewed are valid up to 31st march
2.License fee calculation (for trades established or to be established)
3.Late fees for non- renewal of license.
Note :
** If renewed between 1st March and 30th April – no late fee
** If renewed after 30th April – late fee charges AT 50% of the license fee
** If renewed after 1 year – late fee charges of actual license fee for each year or part thereof.
For Amendment of License :
1. All type of amendment applications are processed similar to issue of new licenses except issue of duplicate licenses
2. Change in Constitution- Full fee (similar to new license except processing charges) is collected
3. Issue of Duplicate License :
** Rs 100/- will be collected towards processing charges
** A fresh license with a new license number will be issued (old license will be cancelled)
** For all duplicate licenses, the word ‘DUPLICATE’ will be written on top of the license.
Some Important Information :
New License :
** For getting a new Health Trade License from Municipal Corporation do the following;
** Submit an application form prescribed for the purpose against a form fee of Rs. 20/-. You can also download a form available on our web site and use it for this purpose.
** The registration receipt to be attached with application form and submit the same before the Local (Health) Authority / Health Officer, SMC
** The Local (Health) Authority / Health Officer will endorse the same to the concerned Food Inspector, in whose jurisdiction the unit is falling for reporting , whether the same is fit for granting the license or not.
** Subsequent to this a Food Inspector will visit your site for inspection. Once the inspection and approval is complete you will receive an E-mail or letter notifying you about the same.
** You should now approach the office of the Health Officer again.
** You have to deposit the license fee in the Municipal Chest against a proper receipt.
** Health Trade license signed by the Local (Health) Authority / Health Officer, who is the Licensing Authority for Municipal Limits, will be issued to you.
Old License renewal :
For getting your old Health Trade License renewed you will have to do the following
1. Approach the office of the Local (Health) Authority with the following supporting documents
** Copy Original License
** License fee receipt
Note :
If found you will have to pay a license renewal fee and processing fees. Note, if your License falls in the approved category a G8 receipt shall be given to you and your license renewed, however if your license is in the pending category you will be issued the G8 but license will be renewed after inspection of your site by the inspector and his corresponding approval. Hence in the pending license case you will have to visit the CSB again on getting the intimation of approval from the inspector, pay the processing fees and get your license renewed.
