Modifications in system of filing application under “oasis.gov.in”.
Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal has introduced a system of “Online Application for Scholarship in Studies” for seeking scholarships under different educational schemes from this year. An estimated 12 to 13 lakh students belonging to SC, ST and OBC are expected to get the benefit under these scheme. The last date for receiving the application was fixed at 15-11-2013.
For applying online for scholarships holding a Caste Certificate has been made mandatory. But it has come to the notice that a large number of students have not yet procured caste certificate and hence cannot apply for scholarship online. As a result till date only 4.6 lakh applications have been filed till upto 25-10-2013 and the figure is low compared to the expected number. Many prospective applications have Filled applications for ’Caste Certificates’ also but have not yet received certificates and therefore unable to apply for scholarship.
1. Except for the Districts of Howrah and Coochbehar where DBT is being introduced, possessing Caste Certificate by the applicant has been made optional. However filling of application for caste certificate and enclosing the acknowledgement slip/ receipt thereof with the hard copy of application for scholarship shall be mandatory. In Howrah and Coochbehar, possessing ’Caste Certificate’ will continue to remain mandatory;
2. The last date for submission of online application has been extended upto 15-12-2013.
In this connection instructions may be sent to all Block Development Officers to process all the filed applications for finalization of the list of beneficiaries of scholarships. Services of the Inspectors and Additional Inspectors should be fully utilized for this purpose. It may be mentioned that the order extending tenure of Additional Inspectors for another one year with effect from 01-10-2013 is likely to be issued soon.

I am SC candidate and passed ICSE EXAM with 91.83 % in 2013 and my name has selected for Dr. B R AMBEDKAR MEDHA PURASKAR ,2013 vide memo no 900(200)/BCW/BDN/ dtd 26.11.2013 from the Commissioner , Backward Classes Welfare, West Bengal. Regarding this letter was sent to my school but sorry to say that principal informed me on 06.02.2014. Then I collect the information letter but date was scheduled on 20.12.2013 at Burdwan.
Now I request you kindly inform me how I can collect my certificate and cash award Rs.5000 /- .

Salary ceiling of parents for ‘creamy layer ‘ son or daughter is 4.5 lakhs as per your order dated 30.4.2010. Now I want to know whether such ceiling has been revised because the said of order is too old as per present market rate.

I already submitted online scholarship Application. Sir, My correct Institution area is MAHARAJA SRIS CHANDRA COLLEGE (SHYAMBAZAR). But, I wrongly submitted Institution area is 24 parganas (North), is my correspondence area. http://www.bcwoasis.com this site is not available. Only the authorities can give you the solution to correct your institution. No body can help you other than the officials. Try to contact them again through help line or atleast in mail.
I would like to know about OBC scholarship which is applicable for graduate student who have passed but due to money problem they are not able to continue higher education.
OBC students will get benefit under this scheme. The last date to apply for this scheme is 15-12-2013. Please note that caste certificate is mandatory for applying for this scholarship.

THERE ARE MANY PROBLEMS TO SUBMIT THE ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP FORM FOR SC/ST STUDENTS. BECAUSE WE SUBMIT THE DATA IN A PARTICULAR WAY, BUT IT OPEN AND PROCESSING VERY VERY SLOW.
