B.I.T, Sindri is a premier technical institute established in 1949 and located in the industrial hub of Sindri and Dhanbad. This is the only institute under the administrative control of Department of Science and Technology, Government of Jharkhand providing U.G., PG and research in various disciplines of Engineering. The Institute is fully residential in nature, providing residential facilities to all its students as well as teaching and non–teaching staff. It has a wide 450 acre campus with a sound infrastructure and numerous buildings presenting a spectacle of architectural delight and natural beauty.

Applications are invited for admission to 02 years Full Time M. Tech. program of the Institute in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Chemical and Civil Engineering for the session 2014-2016 commencing from July, 2014. Benefit of Reservation will only be provided to the applicants, who will submit the caste certificate issued by SDO/DC of Jharkhand State.

The following are the specializations for M. Tech. in various disciplines of engineering
1. Mechanical Engineering :
(i) Heat power Engineering – Mechanical Engg.
(ii) Machine Design – Mechanical Engg.
(iii) Production Technology & Mgt. – Mechanical /Production/ Industrial Engg

2. Electrical Engineering :
(i) Power System. – Electrical Engineering / E EE
(ii) Control System Engineering – Electrical/EEE/ECE/Inst & Control

3. Metallurgical Engineering:
(i) Physical Metallurgy. – Metallurgical Engineering
(ii) Process Metallurgy. -Metallurgical Engineering

4. Chemical Engineering :
(i) Plant Design. Chemical Engineering

5. Civil Engineering :
(i) Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering- Civil Engineering
(ii) Structural Engineering – Civil Engineering

Eligibility Criteria : Candidates with a valid GATE score with B.E / B. Tech or equivalent degree in respective mentioned discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent C.G.P.A ( in case of SC/ST the minimum marks of 55% or equivalent C.G.P.A) from recognized University/ Institute approved by AICTE New Delhi are eligible to apply in prescribed format. Candidates possessing above qualifications and having valid GATE score will be entitled for monthly stipend as per the A.I.C.T.E. / Government approved norms as per availability of fund from A.I.C.T.E. If seats are not filled up with GATE qualified candidates, Non-GATE qualified candidates may also be considered without monthly stipend. The stipend will be provided to the students subject to approval from AICTE.

Fee : Filled up application form must accompany a Demand Draft of Rs. 700.00 (Seven hundred only) for General and OBC category and Rs. 400.00 (Four hundred only) for SC and ST category. The demand draft should be made in favor of “Director, B.I.T, Sindri” payable at S.B.I, B.I.T, Sindri (Branch code–11812).

List of enclosures: Photo copy of the following certificates should be self attested:
1. (a) Final year/Semester marks sheet & passing certificate of BE/B. Tech or equivalent
(b) Appearing candidates should attach 7th semester / 3rd year marks sheet
2. Marks sheet of 10th & 12th
3. Passing certificate of 10th & 12th
4. Caste certificate (if applicable) issued by SDO/DM/DC from Jharkhand State.
5. GATE Score (2014-15).

Important dates:
1. Last date for submission of completed application form by hand/speed post: 19/05/2014.
2. Intimation of shortlisted candidates and schedule of interview on the Institute web site- Last week of June/ 1st week of July. Counseling /Interview – 1st week of July.
3. Commencement of Classes will be notified at the time of interview
