Grant From Army Central Welfare Fund : Demise Grant.
1. The grant @ 5,000/- per individual is released to all Records Offices as well as to Indian Embassy, Kathmandu (Military Wing) directly to NOKs of Retired JCO’s and Other Ranks wef 15 Jan 2011. Similar amount will be paid to JCO’s and Other Ranks invalided out of service in medical category EEE (Other than Battle Casualties).

2. In case the details of NOKs of Ex-Servicemen submitted differ from to what is recorded in documents held by Record Offices, in such cases a certificate from Zila Sainik Board or a serving Col and above will be called for from the claimant establishing his bonafide as NOK before payment is made. Following precedence will be followed :-
If Married / If Unmarried
(a) Wife / (a) Father
(b) Son (Eldest) / (b) Mother
(c) Daughter (Eldest) / (c) Brother
(d) Mother / (d) Sister
(e) Father /
(f) Brother and Sister

3. In case of remarriage by a widow who has once received the grant (on her first widowhood), second grant is only applicable to her on her second widowhood if the remarriage was to a Servicemen and Ex-Servicemen, provided he or his NOKs have not already received the grant for invalidment, or being missing/killed in action respectively.

4. Widow/NOK of the deceased JCO’s and Other Ranks is required to forward the death certificate to his Record Office along with his Personal No, Rank and Name on a plain letter.

Alleviation of Distress Grant : (AOD) and Door to Door Service Welfare Scheme (DDSWS).

5. The grant is released to Command /HQs and Indian Embassy, Kathmandu (Military Wing) for Alleviation of Distress (AOD) Grant and Door to Door Service Welfare Scheme (DDSWS). An ESM/ Dependent is required to submit an application on Form DD-40 duly recommended by Rajya/Zila Sainik Boards to respective HQs Area/Sub Area/Stn HQ/Regtl Centre.

Exemption from Income Tax : on Donation towards Army Central Welfare Fund.

6. Donations contributing towards Army Central Welfare Fund (ACWF) are 100% exempted from Income Tax.

Donations are received through a cheque/demand draft in favour of “Army Central Welfare Fund” (ACWF) payable at Delhi

  2. Are the unemployed children below 21 yrs of age of an ESM are entitled for family pension, where both father as well as mother have expired ?
