Ph.D. Programmes
Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar will conduct Ph.D. Entrance Test in the month of May-June, 2014 for admission to Ph.D. programme for the academic session 2014-15. Admissions will be given according to merit in the Entrance Test (Written and/ interview). The Ph.D. programme of this university will be in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standard and Proceedure for Awards of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation 2009. The UGC/CSIR-JRF qualified candidates will be admitted through interview and other candidates will be admitted through written Test followed by interview. Admission is subject to availability of seats with faculty members.

Duration and Structure of the Programme:
A research scholar registered to the programme will have to pass semester course work with a minimum CGPA to continue in the Ph.D. programme.
Credits through course work for each semester = 24 (Minimum) (16 credits through course work + 8 from research work / Project / Seminar etc. in each semester). Total Credits=48 (2 Sem).
The minimum duration is 3 years and maximum duration to complete the programme shall be 6 years.

Eligibility:
Minimum Qualification: Candidates who have secured at above 55% marks (without rounding off) / equivalent to minimum CGPA in seven or ten point grade scale, for General and OBC (NCL) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from Universities / Institutes recognized by UGC are eligible to appear in the Entrance Test. Schedules Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Physically Challenged (PC) category students who have secured 50% marks (without rounding off) / equivalent to minimum CGPA in seven or ten point grade scale, in the Master?s degree, are eligible to appear in the test.
The candidate studying in the last semester of the qualifying examination may also apply, but he/she must have to produce final result on or before the date of interview (Second weak of June 2014) , failing which his / her candidature will automatically stand cancelled
PG Degree in the relevant Subject.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 28 years as on 1st July, 2014.

Admission to Ph.D. programme : The admission to Ph.D. Course would be given by the following methods;
(a) Direct admission through interview
(b) Admission through Written Test followed by interview.

Entrance Test Fee: General/ OBC category -Rs. 900/- and SC / ST – Rs. 450/-
