Online Met Briefing System :
OLBS is a web-based pre-flight information briefing system provided by IMD, Chennai and New Delhi for flights originating from FIRs in India.
How do I get access? :
As per DGCA regulations, only authorised Pilots / Flight Dispatchers can avail Met. briefing and the Pilot in command is ultimately reponsible for Met briefing.
In case, you have registered under an authorised club (airlines), your initial registration needs to be authenticated by the Club / Airline administrator. When your registration is processed and authenticated by the airline club administrator and subsequently approved by OLBS administrator in IMD, you will receive in the registered username and password by e-mail from the system administrator.
Click on the button “Register” in the home page and furnish all mandatory details. Please re-confirm your e-mail when asked to do so.
Register &b Login Here : http://121.241.116.155/nsweb/FlightBriefing/#showLogin
Against “Motivation” column, please furnish your
(a) CPL / ATPL No. with validity if you are a Pilot &
(b) Flight Dispatcher No. with validity if you are a Flight Dispatcher approved by DGCA. This is a must.
If your airline has already been registered as a Club in our OLBS, then your registration details will be automatically sent to that Club Administrator who may give his/her consent as approval from the airlines concerned and subsequently IMD will approve your user name and send a password. This password can be changed by you during your first log-in under Home menu.
If your airline has not been registered as a club so far, please request your airline / company’s Operations Chief (GM / Director / ASM / … ) to register first by furnishing all relevant details in the registration form.
However, if only one Pilot is (or a few Pilots /Co-Pilots are) available in an organisation and so many user name / password are not needed, it is sufficient if the Pilot himself/herself registers by filling up his ATPL / CPL details against motivation column and send a scanned copy fo license details (clearly revealing the validity date) to amss20042000 AT yahoo.co.in with a copy to narendra.nigam AT imd.gov.in
Pilots and Flight despatchers of foreign origin can also register by sending photo copies of the ATPL / CPL / Flight Dispatcher certification issued by their DGCA and duly endorsed by the Operational head of their Indian office functioning at major aerodromes.
An aerodrome’s TAF is not included because they only issue short TAF (FC)
This is because the default MET selection is for TAF FT (30 hrs validity TAF) and SA (for METAR/ SPECI). You need to click on the “Met Select” button (placed below Destination aerodrome in your flight folder ediit menu) and check the FC button for 9 hrs validity TAF for purely domestic operations aerodromes. Please note that as per latest ICAO guidelines, both TAF FC and TAF FT cannot be provided online by any of the Met. service provider.
