Hiring of Consultants under the IDA assisted ICDS System Strengthening & Nutrition Improvement Project (ISSNIP) (Credit No 5150-IN)

The Government of India has received a credit from the International Development Association (World Bank) for implementation of the “ICDS Systems Strengthening and Nutrition Improvement Project (ISSNIP)”. The project has been designed to support the Chhattisgarh state and its 11 districts (92 ICDS projects) to strengthen the Integrated Child Development Services ((ICDS) Programme with the long term goal of improving child development and nutrition outcomes. The project will be implemented in state , with a special focus on 11 high-malnutrition burden districts. The project has a phased implementation design. Phase 1 of the project, to be implemented over a three year period (2012-15), will focus on critical policy and institutional reforms and on testing innovative pilots and Phase 2 will be implemented subsequently over a four year period. The project will be implemented in 92 ICDS projects of 11 districts, list of which can be viewed on www.issnip.cgwcd.com. Summary of positions of the consultants is as follows :

1. The Department seeks to hire services of Consultants with expertise in the specific technical areas, to provide technical and management support in the implementation of the ISSNIP project.
2. As per Govt. of India/ World Bank Guidelines, the above positions come under hiring of services of consultants/experts for the project period. Thus it should not be considered as recruitment of manpower.

4. In first phase of the project, these services will be hired upto 31 December 2015 only.
