Diploma Entrance Test – 2014:

Admission to 1st Semester Diploma Courses in Engineering/ Technology, Lateral Admission to 3rd Sem Engineering/ Technology & 1st Sem/ 1st Year Non-Engineering/ Film & TV Courses

The Diploma Entrance Test (DET)-2014 for admission to 1st Semester Diploma Courses in Engineering/ Technology, Lateral Admission of the eligible Candidates to 3rd Semester Diploma Engineering Courses, 1st Semester/ 1st year Non-Engineering, Film & Television (available at BPFTIO, Cuttack) Diploma Courses will be conducted on 18.05.2014 (Sunday) at selected centres inside and outside the State.

ELIGIBILITY:
A) (i) Admission to 1st Semester of Engineering I Technology : Pass in HSC examination / 10th standard examination conducted / declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha and obtained at least 35% marks in aggregate, securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination with Math, Science & English.
(ii) Admission to 3rd Semester under Lateral Entry Scheme for eligible candidates (20% supernumerary seats) :
Pass in +2 Science Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent examination with PCM / +2 Vocational (2 years course) in any Engineering Trades / 2 years ITI in Engineering Trade with pass in HSC examination / 10th standard examination conducted / declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha & securing 30% marks in each subject.
Age : Minimum 14 years for all courses except Mining/Drilling and Minimum 16 years for Mining/Drilling as on 01.07.2014. No Upper Age limit.
Reservation: Reservation under different categories will be applicable for Odisha State candidates only as per norms specified by Government of Odisha.
Outside State Candidates : Outside State candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria are also eligible to appear in the Diploma Entrance Test for admission to 1st Semester of 3 year Diploma Engineering Courses against 15% seats reserved for them in Private Engineering Schools & Polytechnics only.

B) Admission to Film & TV Courses (available at BPFTIO, Cuttack) :
(i) Cinematography / Sound & TV Engineering : 10+2 Science from any State Board / ICSE/ CBSE with minimum 35% marks in aggregate.
(ii) Film & Video Editing : 10+2 Sc / Arts / Commerce from any State Board / ICSE/ CBSE with minimum 35% marks in aggregate.
Age: 16 to 28 years as on 01.06.2014. For SC/ST candidates upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years.

C) Admission to Non-Engineering Diploma Courses:
(i) Modern Office Management : Pass in 10+2 Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent examination in Science/ Arts/ Commerce recognized by CHSE, Odisha.
(ii) Pharmacy : Pass in +2 Science Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent examination and obtained at least 35% marks in aggregate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics as approved by PCI and obtained at least 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination.
(iii) HM&CT : Pass in +2 Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its Equivalent examination with Science/ Arts/ Commerce recognized by CHSE, Odisha and obtained at least 35% marks in aggregate securing at least 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination
Age : minimum 16 years as on 01.07.2014. No Upper Age limit

N.B. 1) Reservation under different categories will be applicable as specified by Government of Odisha.
2) Candidate appearing in the qualifying examination may also apply. However he/she has to produce the
said pass certificate (with minimum marks as mentioned above) at the time of counseling. For more details, refer

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM: Candidates shall apply through ONLINE mode only along with required application fee of (i) Rs.200/- for ST, SC & PH (ii) Rs.350/- for FEMALE and (iii) Rs.450/- for MALE candidates and the payment can be made through ATM cum DEBIT / Credit Card / Net Banking / AXIS Bank / IDBI Bank echallan only through Internet by logging on to website: www.detodisha.nic.in.
