Tagore National Fellowship/ Scholarship 2014 :
Ministry of Culture invites nominations/applications for the award of fellowships/scholarships under the Scheme of Tagore National Fellowships for Cultural Research. The objective of the Scheme is to invigorate and revitalize various cultural institutions by encouraging scholars/academicians to affiliate themselves with these institutions to work on projects of mutual interest. The Scheme is open to both Indian nationals and foreign citizens. Scholars who have sound academic or professional credentials and have made significant contribution to knowledge in their respective fields, as reflected in publications in reputed and referred journals and books authored by them, or persons with significant creative work in any field of art or culture, are eligible to apply. The modified Scheme envisages two categories of awards. The first category viz, ‘Tagore National Fellows’ (15 awards) to be paid an honorarium of Rs. 80,000/- per month. The second category viz, ‘Tagore Research Scholars’ (25 awards) to be paid a monthly honorarium of Rs. 50,000/-.
Applications are invited from eligible persons for the award of Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research for the year 2013-14. Details of the Scheme, instructions for applicants and the application module are available on the website of the Ministry

What is the submission date for the fellowship for 2015, please?
Once awarded a Tagore National Fellowship, a candidate cannot apply again for a Fellowship/ Scholarship under this scheme, either at the same or any other institution covered under the Scheme, but this restriction will not apply to Tagore Research Scholars.
I would like to know the status of my candidature regarding Tagore National Fellowship Award for Cultural Research 2013-2014 / 2014 / 0241. Has the list of Fellows selected been announced? When or how could I know the result?
I had applied for the Tagore National Fellowship on 10-12-2012. The project entitled ‘Hindustani Classiki Jamaaliyaat aur Urdu Shaairi’ (Indian Classical Aesthetics & Urdu Poetry) is an effort to understand the impact of Indian classical aesthetics on Urdu poetry. But since then I have nothing about it. Would you please tell whether selection was made for that year?
