KTH Royal Institute Competition For Indian Technology Students & Young Professionals :
Take the challenge, prove your skills and start your career at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in the fall of 2014.
Prizes :
For each master’s programme, prizes will be awarded to participants placing first, second and third in the competition.
First Prize :
One full scholarship for one of the three selected master’s programmes at KTH Royal Institute of Technology
VIP invitation to the prize ceremony in India in January 2014 (all domestic travel expenses and accommodation covered by competition organiser)
Application fee, charged by University Admissions, waived by competition organiser. This entitles winner to apply to four programmes (worth approx. INR 7700)
Winner’s certificate
To receive the scholarship, you need to be accepted into your chosen programme and apply for a Swedish residence permit.
Second Prize :
VIP invitation to the prize ceremony in India in January 2014 (all domestic travel expenses and accommodation covered by competition organiser)
Application fee, charged by University Admissions, waived by competition organiser. This entitles winner to apply to four programmes (worth approx. INR 7700)

Screening process :
All participants will be judged according to their overall performance in the competition, which will be based on competition results, educational background and personal statement.
Thirty participants from each programme with the highest quiz results and number of recommendations will be identified, and one finalist per programme will be selected solely based on the strength of his/her recommendations. Hence, collecting recommendations can be a means of direct qualification to the final round.
Thirty finalists per programme will be selected and officially announced on Student Competitions website on November 15, 2013.
Once selected as a finalist, finalists are expected to formally apply for his/her chosen master’s programme through the Swedish system for university applications, www.universityadmissions.se.
In addition to the online application, you are required to send hard copy versions of the documents by post to the Swedish National Admissions Office in Strömsund. It is crucial that you check for required documents prior to the application process. For more information about documents required to complete your application, please refer to the respective university websites and www.universityadmissions.se.
KTH will review all competition finalists and determine the top applicants per program.
The top three applicants for each programme will be invited to the prize ceremony in Bangalore in January 2014.
The first, second and third prize winners will be awarded during the ceremony.
Important dates :
September 17 Competition opens for participation
November 12 Competition closes. All submissions must be complete by this date.
November 15 The thirty finalists are announced and should apply to their chosen programme via www.universityadmissions.se as soon as possible.
December 5 Last day to apply via www.universityadmissions.se.
By this date, University Admissions has to receive complete applications, including all required supplementary material.
December 18 All winners are announced and invited to the prize ceremony
January 2014 Prize ceremony (date and place to be announced)
March 2014 Official acceptance into the master’s programme and university
May 2014 Scholarship received
Autumn 2014 Winners start chosen master’s Programme at KTH
Eligibility :
The competition is open for participation to anyone fulfilling at least one of the following criteria :
Indian citizen or legal Indian resident
Currently enrolled at an Indian university
Holding a bachelor’s degree from an Indian university (graduating no later than June 2014)
Swedish citizens are not eligible to participate in the competition, nor are non-Swedish students currently enrolled at KTH. In order to be able to claim the first prize (full scholarship), the winner first needs to fulfill the enrollment requirements set by KTH and their chosen master’s programme. All first prize winners must be accepted into their chosen master’s programme in order to receive the scholarship. The formal admission acceptance will be given by University Admissions in March 2014.
Thus, winning the competition does not automatically mean the student is guaranteed a place in the master’s programme.

The winner also needs to apply for a Swedish residence permit in order to be granted residency during the duration of their studies in Sweden.

When registering an account for the competition, it is necessary to accept Student Competitions’ Terms & Conditions, which apply for all competitions organised by Student Competitions AB.
These include :
All users must provide submissions that the user has created him/herself.
All users must provide personal information that is true and correct.
Student Competitions reserves the right to exclude users at their sole discretion.
Additional Rules :
Participation :
Only one entry is accepted per participant, implying that each applicant only can apply to one school.
All participation in the competition must be individual.
Prizes :
No prize alternatives or cash equivalents are offered.
Prizes are non-transferable.
The winner is solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to the acceptance of the prize.
Misc :
The jury consisting of representatives from Student Competitions and KTH reserve the right to choose the winners at their sole discretion.
The jury also reserves the right to choose fewer than the predetermined number of winners if, in the jury’s sole discretion, an insufficient number of eligible and/or qualified entries are received. Incomplete and/or inaccurate entries and entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification.
Student Competitions reserve the right to change these terms at any time.
The terms are governed by Swedish law and therefore you submit to the jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.
