You are welcome to apply for as many scholarships as you wish, provided you meet the eligibility criteria, however if you were successful in more than one you would be required to choose which one to accept (usually whichever is of the highest value).

What is the difference between a scholarship and a bursary?

Scholarships are competitive and require completion of an application form, which is submitted to an academic panel for review.
Bursaries are automatic discounts which are calculated by our admissions team before an offer is made.
Please note that if you receive a bursary discount on your student fee and are then awarded a scholarship, you will only receive a scholarship payment for the amount of the award that exceeds the bursary discount already allowed.
For example, if you receive a discount of £1,000 and are then awarded a scholarship for £2,000, you will receive a scholarship payment for the difference of £1,000.
If a scholarship is awarded which is less than the bursary discount received, you will not receive any scholarship payment, but will receive a scholarship certificate.

What are the deadlines for submitting scholarship application forms?

Commonwealth Shared Scholarship – the deadline for applications is 14 April 2014.

A scholarship panel will be held after the closing date and applicants will be notified no later than one month after this date. This will be by email using the contact details on the course application.

When will I receive my scholarship award?

Fee reduction or payment of the scholarship award (where applicable) will be made after the university census point which the latest point to capture all enrolments, once we have confirmed that you have enrolled at the university and have remained enrolled for at least 3 weeks. The census date for the September intake is November and for the January intake this is April.
