Apply For Visa to Canada :
This site provides information on procedures applicable to applicant who wish to apply for a visa to travel to Canada.

This service is available for Indian, Nepalese & Bhutanese residents who wish to apply in the following categories.
** Visitors
** Students
** Workers
** Permanent Residents *(only those who need a travel document to return to Canada)

Visa applications may be submitted at any of the ten application centers across India and Nepal. All applications are assessed at The Canada High Commission, New Delhi or the Consulate General in Chandigarh.

An interview, if required, can be conveniently scheduled at the application centre.

VFS Processing Charges :
In addition to visa fee,visa applicants in India, Nepal and Bhutan are required to pay a non-refundable service charge. Please note that VFS offices do not accept personal cheques.

Note :
** Service Charges are inclusive of all applicable taxes & are subject to change as per government’s notification.
** VFS Processing Charges in Nepal should be in favor of “VF Services (Mauritius) Pte. Ltd & have to be payable in Kathmandu, Nepal. Demand Drafts are the only acceptable mode for payment in Nepal.
** Photograph and Photocopy services are available at select VAC locations. Kindly confirm availability for the same.
** In India Cash is the only mode of payment for paying VFS Processing Charges & Visa Fee can also be paid in cash by opting Alternate payment option for payment of visa fees (Per Applicant).
** Automated application status alert via SMS & E mails available on request at the time of intake of your Application at VFS Centre.

Photographs :
Requirements :
Provide two photos of yourself with your application.
Your photos must comply with the specifications below. If the photos do not meet the specifications, you will have to provide new photos before your application can be processed.

Specifications :
** The photos must be identical and taken within the last six months. They may be either black and white or colour.
** The photos must be clear, well defined and taken against a plain white or light-coloured background.
** If the photos are digital, they must not be altered in any way.
** Your face must be square to the camera with a neutral expression, neither frowning nor smiling, and with your mouth closed.
** You may wear non-tinted or tinted prescription glasses as long as your eyes are clearly visible. Make sure that the frame does not cover any part of your eyes. Sunglasses are not acceptable.
** A hairpiece or other cosmetic accessory is acceptable if it does not disguise your normal appearance.
** If you must wear a head covering for religious reasons, make sure your full facial features are not obscured.
** Write your Name and Date of Birth on the back of your photographs

Frame Height 45 mm Frame Width 35 mm Max. Face Height 36 mm Min. Face Height 31 mm The frame size must be 35 mm X 45 mm (1 3/8″ X 1 3/4″).

The photos must show the full front view of the head, with the face in the middle of the photo, and include the top of the shoulders. The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 1/4″) and 36 mm (1 7/16″). Crown means the top of the head, or (if obscured by hair or a head covering), where the top of the head or skull would be if it could be seen.

To avoid delays, make sure your photos meet these specifications.

Documents Required for Passport Collection :
If you plan to use a representative to collect your passport on your behalf, you are requested to provide Individual authorization letters, signed by the respective applicants. Your representative must present this letter along with original & 01 photocopy of his or her identity in the form of photo ID (i.e. driving license, passport, or PAN card) along with the original acknowledgement slips provided by VFS at the time of intake of your application, pls see attached sample word document Individual authority letter. If you plan to collect the passport by yourself please present the original acknowledgement slips provided by VFS at the time of intake of your application.

Security Notice for Applicants Visiting VFS Application Centres :
Due to security reasons the following items will not be permitted inside the Application Centre or stored in the premises with effect from 9th of March 2008. :
** All battery operated or electronic gadgets such as cameras, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3’s, floppies, laptops, Pen drive or portable music players.
** All bags such as travel bags, back packs, briefcases, suitcases, leather, jute or cloth bags and zip folders. Only a plastic bag containing your application related papers would be permitted.
** Any food item.
** Sealed envelopes or packages.
** Any inflammable item such as match boxes/ lighters/ fuel etc.
** Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.
** Weapon or weapon like objects or explosive material of any kind.

The list provided above is not finite. Other items may be prohibited based on security staff discretion.

Due to security concerns, we do not permit interested parties such as friends, relatives or business contacts to accompany visa applicants. However, interpreters are allowed to accompany hearing-impaired / physically challenged applicants.

Please Note :
There is no facility at the Visa Application Centre to store prohibited items. Applicants are requested to make alternate arrangements to keep the same before entry into the centre.
