PHFI MMTC Scholarship Fund 2014 :
MMTC India Limited, a leading Public Sector Enterprise, largest trading company of India and a major trading company of Asia has established a Scholarship Fund (‘The Fund’) at PHFI and Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH) to support students of good academic background and belonging to socially and economically deprived communities for the Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management (PGDPHM) offered by IIPH.

Locations where PGDPHM Course is available :
The PGDPHM course is currently offered through PHFIs educational establishments (IIPH) situated at DelhiNational Capital Region (Gurgaon), Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Orissa)

Eligibility criteria and number of scholarships :
MMTC Scholarship Fund is available for all applicant self sponsoredstudents selected for the PGDPHM Course. Preference is accorded to students belonging from socially and economically deprived communities, including SC, ST, OBC and PH/VHC/HI. The ‘Fund’ shall provide for full or part scholarships as per demonstrated need of the applicant.

At current fee (including tuition and hostel fee) 5 full scholarships are available annually for three academic sessions starting with 2013-14. The number of scholarships may vary depending on applicant’s preference of full or part support.

Candidates Selection :
A select Scholarship Committee across PHFI and IIPH’s assesses scholarship applications from the pool of self sponsored candidates selected for the PGDPHM course

Last Date for application :
Last date for application for the PGDPHM and MMTC scholarship is 31th July 2013. Students who have already submitted the PGDPHM application can submit the scholarship application separately.

PGDPHM Course Details :
Post Graduate Diploma In Public Health Management :
This program is an interdisciplinary course both in its content and teaching. It utilizes a variety of teaching/ learning techniques, including seminars, journal clubs, collaborative learning, group discussions, case studies, lecture discussions, assignments, hands- on training on computers, visits to organizations of public health interest, practicum and field projects. Faculty with diverse disciplinary backgrounds, national and international experience combined with a breadth and depth of public health experiencewould be teaching this course.

Course Duration :
The program would be a regular course lasting for nine months of class room teaching and three months of project work including field study. The total duration of the course is twelvemonths.

Eligibility :
Applicants should have a graduate/postgraduate degree in medicine, AYUSH, dental, nursing, pharmacy, health sciences, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, natural/life sciences, management, social sciences, social work, economics, statistics or any equivalent qualification. Candidates with work experience in health/development sector will be given preference.

Self-sponsored candidates from across India and also candidates from other countries can state their preference of the institute (Delhi, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar) in the application form.
