FELICITY :
The dates for the fest are 21, 22 and 23 February 2014.
About Felicity :
Felicity is the annual cultural and technical festival of International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H). It is held in February for three days at IIIT-H in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The idea of Felicity was first conceived in 2001 and it has been organised successfully every year in February. Felicity was conceived to be: “A time of enjoyment, reveling, appreciation of privilege, freedom and comfort given to us, sense of celebration, the feeling and hope that everything is all right with the world. A feeling that we will make the world a better place than we found it.” From the year 2004 onwards technical events were included in the festival under the banner of Threads. Thus it expanded from merely being a cultural festival to a cultural as well as technical festival. Over the years Felicity has grown in presence and stature, witnessing performances by major artists, hosting talks by eminent personalities, and drawing participation from all over the country.
FELICITY 2014 THEME :
Vibrant Villages :
This year we bring forth the rich cultural amalgamation that is India, in the form of “Vibrant Villages”. We celebrate the link between the past and the present, the new age Indian’s multiple identities, and our rich roots, in the form of a cultural exposition at our college. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the puchka’s of Mumbai to the corridors of Infosys, Felicity’14 aims to bring the best of India under one roof. Come and see the land of villages light up, come and identify your ‘own gram’. Come so that you can realize, we are all so different and yet we are the same. For it is possible to be an Indian Banjara or an Indian Tamilian without disrupting the ‘Indian’ sentiment .
