Android Based Mobile Apps Competition 2014 :
Setu Samiti, Nanded invites participation from students and professional (three in group) for “Android based mobile apps competition 2014” on or before 26th February 2014.

Contest Description :
The Contest is for novel and innovative mobile applications utilizing any android based mobile handset. All applications must be demonstrated on real devices. Network services that are part of the application should also be real services embodying no mock-up components.

All invited entries received will be judged by the team of experts as decided by Hon Collector and Chairman, Setu Samiti, Nanded. The finalists will further judge the entries after considering live demonstrations before determining the winner

Scope Of The Apps :
The Apps is to be developed to specially highlight the Nanded City Tour Guide, that will provide all necessary information of following but not limited to the following topics and areas expected to be covered.

1. Educational Institutions
2. Entertainment
3. Hotels and restaurants
4. Medical assistance
5. Local Travel Guide
6. Governemt and semi government offices
7. Tourism and Historical importance
8. Connectivity and Communication
9. Disaster management

Contest Schedule :
** Registration period starts on 16/01/2014 10am and ends on 27/01/2014 5pm
** The submission period starts on 28/01/2014 10am and ends on 26/02/2014 5pm.
** Evaluation will be done from 1st March 2014 to 14th March 2014
** Result Competition result will be declared on 15th March 2014

The submission should include :
1. A document containing description of the application.
2. Binary build of the application and installation guide. For instance apk file for Android, and xap file for Windows Phone.
3. If your application has a server component, submission of that server package is not required. But it is your responsibility to make sure the server is running and available during the judgment period so application is functional during evaluation.

Winner Determination And Prizes :
There wil be following prizes for the Winners
** First prize Rs. 35000/- and certificate
** Setu Samiti may offer opportunity to work with the winning team members for commercial basis

Judgement Criteria :
** The expert team appointed by Chairman Setu Samiti will evaluate the application on the basis of technical feasibility and utility. The Setu samiti reserve all rights of selection and evaluation process.

Other Conditions :
** If someone cheats, or a virus, bug, catastrophic event, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that cannot be reasonably anticipated or controlled, (also referred to as force majeure) affects the fairness and / or integrity of this Contest, we reserve the right to cancel, change or suspend this Contest. This right is reserved whether the event is due to human or technical error. If a solution cannot be found to restore the integrity of the Contest, we reserve the right to select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Contest.
** If you attempt to compromise the integrity or the legitimate operation of this Contest by hacking or by cheating or committing fraud in ANY way, we may seek damages from you to the fullest extent permitted by law.
** You cannot enter the Contest with an application that was already designated as winner in any other contest.
** You cannot enter the Contest with an application that is already in an app market such as Google Play, Apple App Store or Windows Phone Marketplace
** Yourentry must be your own original work and must not infringe or violate the privacy, intellectual property rights or other rights of any other person or entity. Source code is required to be submitted.
** Your entry should not include any third party trademarks (logos, names) or copyrighted materials (music, images, video, recognizable people) unless you have obtained permission to use the materials.

Note :
Your entry must not contain, as determined by us, in our sole and absolute discretion, any content that is sexually explicit, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; profane or pornographic, Promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco,firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing) or a particular political agenda. That is obscene or offensive.
