Footwear Design & Development Institute popularly known as FDDI was set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India in the year 1986 with an objective to provide human resource and technical services to the industry. In just a span of two decades FDDI has evolved from being India’s premier institute to a notable International Training Institute. FDDI is among the first institute in the world to get prestigious ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
** UG Programmes – minimum 45% in 10+2, PG Programmes – minimum 45% in Graduation
** Eligible candidates have to undergo an All India Selection Test (AIST) that consists of Math, English, reasoning/General science, GK and Business Aptitude.
** Candidates attempted CAT/MAT/XAT/AIMA/JMET/NMAT/AMCAT/SNAP/GMAT/AIM-CAT are eligible for exemption from appearing in the written test of FDDI.
** They may also have the option to appear for FDDI written test. In that case the best of two exams i.e. CAT/MAT/XAT etc or FDDI written exam will be considered for the merit of selection.
** The common merit list of written test will be prepared for candidates appeared in the written test of FDDI and applied under CAT & MAT category. Accordingly, shortlisted candidates will be called for conseling.

The cost of Prospectus along with Admission Form is Rs. 500/-.
Prospectus along with the Admission Form can be purchased from:
FDDI Campus at NOIDA, Rai Bareilly, Chennai, Kolkata, Chhindwara, Rohtak, Jodhpur & Guna.
The prospectus can also be procured from branches of Axis Bank(will be available soon) across India.
You can send a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) in favour of “FDDI” payable at New Delhi to FDDI, NOIDA and it will be sent through courier. Do not forget to mention your complete address at the back of the DD also.
Last date for issue and submission of admission form is 19th May 2014.
Date of Computer based Entrance Examination (AIST 2014): 13th, 14th, & 15th June 2014.
Examination Centers will be allotted on First-Come-First-Serve basis. Aspiring candidates are advised to fill in the Application Form and submit the same at the address given below at the earliest.

How to Apply :
Candidates are required to fill the Application Form attached with the prospectus as per the instruction mentioned here in and send the duly filled in form alongwith the requisite documents to FDDI, Noida. Duly Filled application form along with requisite documents should be sent to Admisison Cell, FDDI. The important instructions for filling the form are given below.
A candidate can apply for more than one programme in a single form. For applying in multiple programmes candidates have to fill the programme code in accordance to their preference of programme as given in the Application Form.
Applicants of PG programmes can apply for other PG programmes only, in the same form.
Applicants of UG & Integrated programmes can apply for other UG & Integrated programmes only, in the same form.
If a candidate wish to apply for both UG & PG programmes he / she has to fill two separate application forms.
Applicant can choose Date of his/her choice from the dates given in the Application form for appearing in AIST. Maximum efforts will be made to accommodate on the given date and centre on first come first serve basis. However due to infrastructure constraints a candidate may sometimes be asked to appear on other dates /centre also.
Candidates applying under the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PH/Disabled) must attach an attested copy of documentary proof signed by the competent authority as admissible, along with the duly filled up Application Form.
Candidates applying under exemption for written exam must attach photocopy of their relevant score card or admit card along with the duly filled up Application Form.
Candidates is required to paste one recent passport size coloured photograph in the specified area of the form. The photograph should be pasted properly. A form without the same shall be rejected.
Candidates is required to fill up the personal details given in the Admit Card and sent back along with the duly filled up form. The candidates are also required to send one self-addressed envelope (Size Approx 9.5 X 4.5 inches) along with the Application Form.
The candidates are required to sign properly & carefully (without any overwriting/cut) in the first column provided in the Admit Card indicated as “signature of candidate (at the time of filling up the form)”. In case of mismatching of the signature you will not be allowed to appear for the test.

AIST 2014 EXAMINATION STRUCTURE :
FDDI entrance test be of 2.5 hrs. (Two and half hours) duration and would be conducted in English & Hindi languages. There would be a total of 150 objective type questions. Multiple choices for these questions will be available and candidates are required to choose the right answer.
Each question would carry 1 mark. There is no negative marking. The time allotted for the test will be shown on the screen as Time Left to finish the test. The time will start to tick as soon as the candidates click the “Start Test” button. On completion of the test, the candidates can exit by pressing the “Submit” button. The candidates should attempt all the questions within the stipulated test duration of 2.5 hours to avoid being “timed out”.
The Test Centre Administrator would be available at the test centre to provide all the necessary assistance. The test would be invigilated to ensure that spirit of the exam is maintained. The candidate found indulging in the malpractice of any nature would be disqualified and would be instructed to leave the test premises immediately. The candidate would not be allowed to carry Mobile Phones, Pagers, Calculators, PDA, Listening Devices and Recording or Photographic devices of any nature in the examination hall.
