Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), is an autonomous body under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. TIFAC is implementing the project “Preparation of the Detailed Project Report and Design of R&D Scheme for Launch of National Mission for Electric Mobility” sponsored by the Department of Heavy Industry, Government of India. The National Mission for Electric Mobility (NMEM) announced in January 2013 is an inter-ministerial activity and Research and Development is one of the focus of this Mission. Main thrust areas for R&D include systems integration, rechargeable energy storage (battery, ultracapacitor etc.), drives and control, and lightweight design and manufacturing. Preparation of the detailed project report will involve benchmarking of global technology status, survey of present Indian competency, gap identification, and preparation of strategies and pathway for technology development programme. TIFAC invites applications for the following positions for this project:

1. Name of the post : Project Associate (Drives and Controls)
Number of vacancy: 1
Maximum Age: 35 years as on 01-01-2014
Consolidated Emoluments: Rs.36000/- per month
Qualifications: BE/ B.Tech or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
Desirable: Experience of working in industry or R&D institute in the relevant fields. Knowledge in simulation and modelling
Nature of duties: study and analysis of technology trends, collection and collation of data, modelling and simulation
Duration: 4 months (may be extended based on the project requirement)

2. Name of the post : Project Associate (On-board Energy Storage)
Number of vacancy: 1
Maximum Age: 35 years as on 01-01-2014
Consolidated Emoluments: Rs.36000/- per month
Qualifications: M.Sc in Materials Science or Chemistry or BE/ B.Tech in Chemical, Energy Engineering or in relevant areas
Desirable: Experience of working in industry or R&D institute in the are of electrochemistry or materials science. Knowledge in modelling and simulation
Nature of duties: study and analysis of technology trends, collection and collation of data, modelling and simulation
Duration: 4 months (may be extended based on project requirement)
