Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following positions on contract basis;

1. Name of the post : Research Associate (RA)
Name of the project : Maharashtra Gene Bank Programme
Funding Agency : Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission, State Government of Maharashtra
Project Code : MGBP
Minimum qualifications : Ph.D. in any branch of life sciences with sufficient research experience and publications.
Preference : Preference may be given to the candidates having one or the more following skill set ;
1. Experience in maintaining microbial culture collections
2. Microbial Ecology/ Physiology
3. Secondary metabolite/ Natural product chemistry
4. Bioassays based of microbial and animal cell cultures
5. Data Management, statistics and computational biology
6. Environmental anthropology/ experience in field-work related to human-environment relations.
Fellowship : Starting Rs. 22,000 /- per month + 20% HRA
No. of posts : Five
Tenure : Initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Age : Not more than 35 years as on closing date of advertisement

2. Name of the post :Project Fellow
Name of the project : Maharashtra Gene Bank Programme
Funding Agency : Rajiv Gandhi Science & Technology Commission, State Government of Maharashtra
Project Code : MGBP
Minimum qualifications : M.Sc. in microbiology/ biotechnology/ biochemistry/ environmental sciences/ biodiversity. Students in the final semester of M. Sc. May apply. CSIR-NET qualification desirable
Fellowship : Starting Rs. 12,000 or Rs. 16,000/- per month + 20% HRA based on academic qualification with CSIR-JRF / NET or GATE Examinations and Relevant Experience.
No. of posts : Three
Tenure : Initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Age : Not more than 28 years as on closing date of advertisement
