BDU Fest 2014-Inter College Cultural Competition :
Eligibility :
Bonafide students pursuing a full-time course of study in University departments / a college / an Institution (Day/Evening) affiliated to Bharathidasan University and below 25 years of age as 31.12.2013 shall be eligible to participate in the Festival.

Strength Of Contingent :
Maximum 41 Students + 6 Accompanists per College.

Note :
Musical Instrumentalists / Accompanist would preferably be among the students. However, upto 6 outside accompanists may be allowed, if suitable students are not available. But, the students strength should not exceed 41

Contingent In-charge (escort) :
Participating college shall send atleast Asst.Prof. / Asso. Prof. / Prof. , Preferably the Incharge of Fine Arts as the Escort. He/She will maintain a liaison with the Organizing Committee of BDU FEST and shall stay with participants from the beginning of the programme to the end of valedictory function.

The team without an Escort will not be allowed to participate in BDU FEST.

Identity Cards :
The participants should wear their BDU FEST identity cards with photograph signed by the appropriate authorities. Entry of spectators is strictly subject to the approval of the organizers.

Entry Restriction :
Only Escorts and Participants will be allowed into the programme venues. They should obtain their ENTRY PASSES (BDU FEST IDENTITY CARD) at Registration counter. All the participants should wear this Identity card issued by the Organizers, throughout their stay in the campus.
Non-participants/participants without BDU FEST identity cards will not be allowed in to the programme venues. However, permission to enter in to the premises / venues for students other than participants could be obtained from the organizers.

Vulgarity and awkward steps in programmes and indecency in dress may lead to disqualification of the team

Travel And Boarding :
The participating college / institution will have to bear their own travelling and boarding expenses. The participants should take care of their materials by having their own lock and key. They should be vigil on their luggage’s and the organizers are not responsible for any loss of materials.

Theme Of The Items :
Cultural events such as mime, group song (Indian) & Fine arts of the BDU FEST would require to project fundamental values of Indian culture by displaying values oriented towards the unity and integration of our country, integrity, truth, devotion, loyalty etc., with particular reference to Indian cultural heritage. Such values may help to eliminate religious fanaticism, violence, superstition and fatalism.

Re-scheduling :
The cultural co-ordinator may re-schedule or modify the Programmes on account of any sudden development / situation.

Team Reporting :
It will be the responsibility of the contingent leader to ensure that the team reports for various events as per the time and order announced by the organizers.

Order Of Participation :
The team will participate in the events according to the draw of lots.

Musical Instruments :
The participants must bring their own musical instruments. However, the organizers will provide the necessary sound systems, i.e., Microphones, speakers and plug points only.

Audio Cassette :
Pre-recorded music (tape, CD, Cassette etc.,) shall be permitted under the items of Folk dance, Classical dance, Skit, variety entertainment and Mime. Only manual operation of keyboard will be permitted. Key board notes and floppies (CD-ROM) should not be used in the programmes.

Judgement :
Judgment will be based on the quality of performance of participants and not by the audience / accompanists supporting a Programme.

Prizes And Certificates :
Prizes and certificates will be awarded to the winners for the first 3 places. But only certificates will be issued for the 4th and 5th places.

Special Prize :
Special prizes for the best Govt. / Aided / Self finance College will be given by adding points gathered from more than one event. Eg. Music & Theatre of Fine Arts & Literary etc. Single participations in any one event will not be considered for this category.

Important :
The Participants Are Requested To Study The Rules And Regulations For The Various Events Given Above. The Decision Of The Judges Appointed For Different Events Shall Be Final And Binding Upon All.

  2. How to get details of prize list?

    1. Prize distribution had already been done on 12-01-2014 at 4.30 pm at University Convocation Hall.
