CRIB COMPETITION-2013 :
INTRODUCTION/OBJECTIVES:
Christmas is a holy day that marks the birth of Jesus, the son of God. All over the world this day is remembered as birthday of Jesus, which is known as Christmas. During this celebration, the celebration is of the birth of Christ is depicted by making a crib in each of the Christian household. Goa has the uniqueness of having rich tradition of a blend of Indian and Western culture in most of the religious festivals and celebrations. In order to preserve and promote this age old tradition, Directorate of Art & Culture is organising the Crib Competition every year.
GUIDELINES/RULES:
1. The competition is open to all individuals/households or associations/groups from any village or town in Goa. There will be no entry fee for the participation.
2. This competition is organized in two different categories:
a) Institutions/Group: Cribs made by institutions, clubs, and parishes or by a group of people.
b) Individuals/Household: Cribs made in a house or besides the house by an individual or within a family.
3. The entry forms in the prescribed format are available free of cost from 15/11/2013 to 13/12/2013 and the duly filled forms will be received till 13/12/2013. The late entries will not be entertained.
4. Crib itself is a theme. While making the same, due care should be taken to maintain the tradition and authenticity as well as the message of joy, peace and happiness to the general public through the crib.
5. The live-crib/live animals in the crib will not be considered for the competition. 6. The Directorate of Art & Culture reserves the right to alter or delete or add any rule of the competition.
JUDGING:
The judging process will be done by a panel of two or three jury members and will be completed from 26th to 30th December. The department will indicate the concerned competitors the date of the visit of the judges at the respective location of the crib. However, the same will not be binding on the department to do so or it may differ/change in the schedule at last minute. The participants should be present at the time of judging the competition. The decision of the judges is final and binding.
PRIZES & DISTRIBUTION:
The State level result will be declared by the department within 3 days from last day of judging.
Prizes will be distributed to the winners within 30 days from the date of competition at a special or nearest function of DA&C whichever comes first.
The winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes along with the certificate. The prizes for Institution/Group Category are as follows: 1st Prize- Rs. 15,000/-, 2nd Prize- Rs.10,000/-, 3rd Prize- Rs. 7,000/- and Five Consolation prizes of Rs. 5000/- each. For Individuals/Household Category, the prizes are as follows: 1st Prize- Rs. 10,000/-, 2nd Prize- Rs.7,000/-, 3rd Prize- Rs. 5,000/- and Five Consolation prizes of Rs. 3000/- each.
