Environmental & Regulatory Engineer :
We are recruiting an Environmental & Regulatory Engineer on behalf of our Client in UAE.
Location : Abu Dhabi
Job purpose :
Responsible for identifying key environmental and regulatory (E&R) issues that may affect the project, identifying all internal Company and external/governmental agency E&R requirements, developing E&R related submission and approval strategies, coordinating E&R studies, meeting with contractor representatives regarding E&R issues, advising the PMT regarding E&R requirements and supporting the project to ensure project E&R objectives are achieved.
Principal Accountabilities :
** Maintain familiarity with company E&R requirements and practices
** Maintain familiarity with Abu Dhabi (UAE) governmental statutes and directives
** Maintain working relationship and contacts with company Corporate HSE personnel
** Work closely with Project Manager and others to schedule key permitting/approval milestones; develop permitting and approvals strategy
** Assist in the preparation of Project E&R plans, procedures, studies programmes and KPI’s
** Ensure method statements, plans, schedules and procedures align with the agreements in the documents and relevant Contractor and Project HSE plans
** Assist in the preparation of Project E&R plans, procedure, environmental monitoring and EIA related enhacement studies
** Meet with contractor HSE and management representatives to help communicate Company E&R expectations
** Review contractor E&R plans and procedures
** Assist in ensuring that key permitting/approval milestones are met
** Conduct periodic Regulatory Compliance Assessments at selected project locations. Communicate changes as necessary
** Participate in HSE reviews, audits, inspections and incident investigation and assist in processing related incident reports
** Assisting and developing the implementation of training programmes/campaigns and ensure records are maintained
** Provide support to the Logistics and Waste Management Contractor to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Waste Management Area
** Deputize for Environmental Lead, as required
Work Environment :
Regular office based work with routine visits to offshore worksites.
Requirements :
** B.S. degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management.
** Minimum of 10 years experience (oil & gas industry experience strongly desired) with at least 5 years as a project/construction E&R Engineer or advisor
** Excellent English language proficiency, both written and spoken
** Excellent interpersonal & presentation skills
