NATIONAL MEANS-CUM-MERIT (NMMS) / H.P STATE TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION (NTSE-1) – NOVEMBER 2013

State Council of Educational Research & Training, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) proposes to hold two examinations for the academic session 2013-14: National Means-cum- Merit Scholarship (NMMS) for Class VIII and H.P Talent Search Examination (HPTSE /NTSE- I ) for class X students on 17- 11- 2013 (Sunday) at 27 Centres in Himachal Pradesh.

One thousand (1000) scholarships of Rs. 500/- per month will be awarded by NCERT, New Delhi from class X onwards up to Post-graduation / Ph.D level. There are 832 scholarships for H.P under NMMS scheme given by MHRD, New Delhi. The scholarship worth Rs. 500/- per month will be awarded to the poor meritorious students for 4 years i.e from class IX to XII.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR NMMS : (For Class VIII Students)
1) Any regular student studying in VIII class of Govt./Govt. aided (95% aided by H.P Govt.) schools in H.P with 55% marks in previous class i.e class VII( relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/Physically challenged group) can appear in this examination.
2) The parental income of the students should not exceed Rs. 150000/- (One lac fifty thousand ) per annum from all sources and certificate to this effect issued by the SDM/Tehsildar/ Naib Tehsildar) must be attached in original with the Application form.
3) Attach attested photocopy of class VII certificate with the Application form

COMMON CONDITIONS FOR NMMS :
1) 15% seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for Physically challenged group (PCG)
2) Examination fee of Rs. 25/- for General Category and Rs. 15/- for SC/ST/PCG is to be sent in the name of Principal, SCERT, Solan (H.P) by IPO or Demand draft
4) Candidates claiming caste/tribe reservation must attach attested copy of SC/ST certificate issued by SDM/Tehsildar/Naib Tehsildar with the application form.
5) Candidates belonging to PCG must attach certificate issued by competent authority (CMO) stating disability status of 40% or above
6) Forms duly attested by the Head of the institution, complete in all respects along with the documents should reach the Principal, SCERT by 10-09-2013. Incomplete forms will be rejected straightforward and Examination fee will be forfeited. No information in this regard will be given.
7) Application forms will be available from 5th August 2013 and can be obtained free of cost from this office or by sending self addressed envelope with stamp of Rs. 5/- to the Principal, SCERT, Solan or can be downloaded from our website : himachal.nic.in/scert .
