VEL TECH Group of Educational Institutions was established in 1990 by a well known industrialist couple dedicated to public service, Dr.Rangarajan and Dr.sakunthala Rangarajan, who by then had 30 years of experience in developing Industries and International Trade. What took off as a modest school now stands as a monument of glory for “Chennai city”. A student volume of above 12,000 throng the various educational institutions of VEL TECH group. Through sheer hard work and principled living, the couple has been able to make these institutions highly successful by offering 59 courses including post graduate courses.
Dr.R.Rangarajan is currently a Syndicate Member of the University of Madras and Anna University. The long, dedicated, tireless and passionate journey continues to the cause of nation building. VEL TECH Dr.RR & Dr.SR TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, Chennai, shortly VEL TECH, has established more than 25 courses in engineering under six schools in Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Technology, Information & Computing and Management supported by more than 50 well equipped laboratories, computer facilities with 24×7 internet connectivity, aided by a dynamic web support system accessible to every student and parent. Industry stream B.Tech / M.Tech programmes are offered by Vel Tech University to develop a new breed of Engineers tailor suiting the demands of modern industries
At VEL TECH, more than 800 highly qualified and experienced teachers take direct charge of students guidling them throughout their programmes, arrange for industrial visits and projects and help select appropriate elective subjects. The hostel provides healthy accommodation and food. Vast library resources meet every student’s requirement of books for the full courses.
ELIGIBILITY :
Students studying undergraduate programmes, post graduate programmes in Engineering Colleges as well as Diploma holders of Polytechnics, MCA / B.Sc, M.Sc Computer Science / Science Group students with ability to demonstrate their innovative project work at VISAI PLATFORM .
PROJECT ABSTRACTS / MODELS INVITED IN THE FOLLOWING STREAMS :
Mechanical stream :Mechanical, Automobile, Aeronautical, Civil & Allied
Electrical stream : ECE, EEE, EIE & Allied
Computing stream : CSE, IT, MCA & Allied
Biochemical stream : BioTech., BioMed., Chemical & Allied
Guidelines for participation in VISAI 2013:
** Projects invited in 4 major streams
** Mechanical stream -Mechanical, Automobile, Aeronautical, Civil & allied
** Electrical stream – ECE, EEE, EIE & allied
** Computing stream – CSE, IT, MCA & allied
** Biochemical stream – BioTech., BioMed., Chemical & allied
** All Engineering /Technical Projects are eligible for this competition
** Submitted project will be reviewed by a committee of experts and the selected projects from each stream will be invited for Presentation (stage II) & Physical demonstration (stage III) at Vel Dr.RR & Dr.SR Convocation Centre during 23-24 Feb 2014.
** Projects shortlisted for participation in the exhibition will be informed by e-mail & published in our website from time to time.
** Best three projects of each stream will get prizes as below:
First Prize: 5,000 per stream + Certificate + Trophy
Second Prize: 3,000 per stream + Certificate + Trophy
Third Prize: 2,000 per stream + Certificate + Trophy
** Special awards in the name of CATEGORY AWARDS to promote exclusively the most sought after attributes in students by the industries today such as Best inter Disciplinary Project, Best teamwork Project, Best Display Project, Best design Project, Best innovation Project will be highlights of VISAI 2014.
** Additionally there will be 10 Consolation Awards and many more surprise/On the spot awards to encourage specific attributes not covered under any of the above categories .
** Each project shall accompany a self declaration and Certificate attested by Director / Principal / Dean / HOD of the institute where the project is submitted. Copy of self declaration form and Certificate are available in the event website.
** Applicants must bring their college ID card during the competition.
As 160 teams will be participating in the event elaborate arrangements are to be made in time for which you are requested to strictly comply with guidelines given above.
REGISTRATION FEE:
FOR INDIAN DELEGATES: RS. 2500 PER TEAM OF 3 MEMBERS, ADDITIONAL MEMBERS RS. 1000 EACH
FOR FOREIGN DELEGATES: USD100 PER TEAM OF 3 MEMBERS, ADDITIONAL MEMBERS USD 50 EACH

When is the last date to submit?
Last date is not mentioned in the advertisement. But however now the registration is open for all the streams. Rush yourself to submit your Project Abstract & Registration form before the registration got closed.
If not shortlisted for the competition, will the fees be refunded?
