For providing training, the Institute develops its Programme Calendar on the basis of Training Need Analysis of the various stakeholders like Technical Institutions, Directorates of Technical Education, industry etc. The Calendar so developed is shared with all concerned to enable participation of the right person for the right kind of programme, before implementation.
Various kinds of programme are offered specially for the total development of teachers / supporting staff of technical institutions so that they can play multiple role such as effective teaching, curriculum development, instructional material development, infrastructure development, student evaluation, guidance and counseling, community interaction and consultancy. The programmes are offered in a very flexible manner to suit the convenience of the clients with respect to duration (sometimes made modular) venue and timings. Programmes are conducted in the Institute premises at Kolkata and its two Extension Centres at Bhubaneshwar, Orissa and Guwahati, Assam at the doorsteps of the institutions requiring training, as also industrial locations.
The Institute also invites faculty members from institutions of higher learning and industry for providing a variety of experience and exposure to the participant, on one hand, and for ensuring quality, on the other. All the programmes are evaluated in terms of their effectiveness. At the end of each programme, feedback obtained is analyzed and findings are shared with the sponsoring organizations as a mechanism for monitoring purposes.
Short Term Training Programmes :
The Institute Conducts Short Term Training Programmes (STTPs) for in-service teachers and staff members of technical institutions, e.e., Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges all over India. These training programmes are spread over the entire academic year, i.e., from April 1 of every year to March 31 of the next calendar year. The STTPs are typically of one week duration. AICTE has recognized the STTPs conducted by the Institute for consideration for the purpose of movement to higher grades under Career Advancement Scheme. In-House Trainng Programmes:
In addition to STTPs mentioned in the Programme calendar’s, the Institute also conduct clientele demand based STTPs of following categories.
Demand based training programmes are conducted in the campus of the client institutes with flexible duration according to convenience of the clients. The expenditure for programmes conducted at Govt./Govt. aided technical institutions, excluding those institutions covered under World Bank Assisted Tech. Ed. III project and TEQIP, are borne by NITTTR, Kolkata according to the norms of the Institute. Course fees are charged for conducting such programme in other category of technical institutions.The heads of the institutions may contact us for details for availing of the facility.
Special Trainng Programmes:
Tailor-made training Programmes/Workshops are conducted at the main campus or any one of the Extension Centres of the Institute at Bhubaneswar/Guwahati to cater to the special needs felt by the Directorates of Technical Education or organizations/ industry. Those interested are invited to send their demands.
Collaborative Trainng Programmes:
Such programmes will be conducted in collaboration with technical institutions / industries by sharing of resources. The Institute has organized such programmes in collaboration with national and international organizations like Colombo Plan Staff College, United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, United Nations Development Programme and various reputed technical institutions.
