IC DESIGN COURSES :
This course is aimed to provide an opportunity for participants to acquire technical insights on some of the vital aspects of Analog IC, RF System and RFIC Design from industry perspective. It is structured into different modules. Modules will cover the vital aspect and design considerations on various functional blocks of RF System. Designs on commercial products will be presented to the participants to gain in-depth and integral perspective on RF System Design. It will also provide an overview on the design flow of Analog IC, RFIC and PCB Design. Specific issues pertaining to IC design will be highlighted for discussion.

Practical design issues and tips on some critical RF building block such as LNA, Mixer and Biasing circuits will be presented.

Modules will be conducted by experienced IC Design experts from the industry with local and overseas working experience. Interactive and open discussions between speakers and participants are encouraged and facilitated to make the whole course more interesting and thought stimulation.

ANALOG IC DESIGN COURSE :
The Analog Layout Techniques course provides an introduction to the area of full custom analog layout. Focusing primarily on mixed mode CMOS processes, the course teaches the techniques used in producing high quality layouts of base band analog designs.

Analog IC design is experiencing a flourishing period.. You will learn basic of Analog IC layout desiging from simple cuurrent mirror block to complex PLL System level design.. You will also see the industrial-strength simulation / layout software—ADS, IC Editor, Cadence—to design a CMOS analog IC and be expected to conduct an individual research project with an emphasis on Advanced CMOS OPAMP design.

RF IC DESIGN COURSE :
The goal of course is to teach the necessary knowledge of RF integrated circuit principles analysis and design. This course covers the design and analysis of radio-frequency integrated systems at the transistor level using state-of-the-art GaAs, SiGe, HBT and CMOS technologies. It focuses on system-level trade-offs in transceiver design, practical RF circuit techniques, and physical understanding for device parasitic. Accurate models for active devices, passive components, and interconnect parasitic are critical for predicting high-frequency analog circuit behavior and will be examined in detail.

The course will start with fundamental concepts in wireless system design and their impact on design trade-offs in different transceiver architectures. Following that, RF transistor model passive matching networks will be discussed. Noise analysis and low-noise amplifier design are studied next. The effects of nonlinearity are treated along with mixer design techniques. Practical bias circuit for RF design will be illustrated. Then, the importance of will be considered power amplifier design. The course will conclude with a brief study of phase noise and VCO design.
