InoVIT South India Level Science Contest For School Children 2014:
About Vit Univeristy :

InoVIT – A Science Contest for School Children is another mega annual event launched by VIT University to create and encourage the scientific innovations in the young minds at the School level.

Eligibility and Instructions :
1. Students between 9th and 12th standard can participate.
2. Each Team can have a MAXIMUM of THREE students.
3. Original Work will only accepted.
4. An abstract, not more than 200 words should be submitted for entering in to the preliminary round.

Idea Presentation :
Eligibility and Instructions :
1. Students between 9th and 12th standard can participate.
2. Each Team can have a MAXIMUM of THREE students. They can be from one or more of the above mentioned classes. Any number of teams can participate from an individual school.
3. Preference will be given for ideas that are innovative/original/creative and cost-effective.
4. An abstract, not more than 250 words should be submitted for entering in the qualifying round.
5. The teams that qualify need to make a presentation for 10 minutes about their idea using PPT / chart (number of slides should not exceed 15).

Conservation of energy and effective utilization of alternative fuels, Modern Practices in Agriculture and its Productivity, Eradicating Hunger and Malnutrition – Poverty-related issues, Modern Techniques in Storage and Processing Food, Effective methods for sanitation and recycling of water/waste-water, Current trends in occupational and environmental health, Remedial Measures for Problems related to Modern Lifestyles and their impact on human health, Measures to improve women and child health issues, Any other topic affecting/afflicting the common man

Group I :
Eligibility and Instructions :
1. Students between 9th and 12th standard can participate.
2. A maximum of THREE students in a team will be permitted.
3. Questions will be from the syllabi of 9th and 10th std.
4. Rules will be announced just before the commencement of Quiz.
5. Preliminary and Final rounds will be conducted during 10-11, January 2014 at VIT University.
6. Short listed teams from the Preliminary Round will be called for the final round at VIT University.

Group II :
Eligibility and Instructions :
1. Students between 11th and 12th standard can participate.
2. A maximum of THREE students in a team will be permitted.
3. Questions will be from the syllabi of 11th and 12th std.
4. Rules will be announced just before the commencement of Quiz.
5. Preliminary and Final rounds will be conducted during 10-11, January 2014 at VIT University.
6. Short listed teams from the Preliminary Round will be called for the final round at VIT University.

1st Prize : Rs.20,000, 2nd Prize: Rs.15,000, 3rd Prize: Rs.10,000

Instructions :
** The competition is open to all Schools (CBSE /ICSE/ISC/ STATE BOARD).
** Participants of final round are advised to come with their teacher to VIT University.
** Free Accommodation and food will be provided for the final round participants in VIT University from 9th Jan 2014 at 5.00 p.m. to 12th Jan 2014 at 12.00 noon. Only Teachers are permitted to stay along with the students.
** Electric outlets (Working Model) / LCD projectors (Idea Presentation) will be provided.
** Posters must be of 20 x 25 inches in size. Ordinary chart paper / vinyl banner can be used. You can use pictures, diagrams, flow chart, cartoon, etc.

How To Register?
** Registered participants are only permitted to participate in the contest.
** The registration form can be downloaded from Website. Xerox copies of the enclosed registration form can be completed and send to the Organizing Secretary on or before 10th December 2013. No spot entry will be permitted except Quiz.
** Register through online link given in the website.
** Each participant has to pay the registration fee of Rs. 100 per event in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of InoVIT 2014, VIT University payable at Vellore. Students from the same school can send the registration fee in a single Demand Draft.
