Rashtriya Vigyan Chalchitra Mela and Competition – 2014 :
Objective :
This competition is organised to facilitate, nurture, recognize and encourage the science film producers on their outstanding work. This competition will bring out the best science and technology video films produced in the country and set a bench mark for excellence

The venue of the competition is Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Kasturba Road, Bangalore, Karnataka-560001
Categories of Awards :
A. Popular Science Films (duration more than 20 mts)
B. Short Films on Science and Technology (duration less than 20 mts)
C. Best Animation / Graphic / Special Effects in Science and Technology films or videos.
D. Science & Technology Films made by student / (s).
E. Focus category – only for screening (not entitled for any award).
General Conditions for Entry in all categories :
(i) The competition is open to all Media Centres, Private producers and Educational Institutions in India.
(ii) The film should have been produced between 01 October 2012 to 30 September 2013.
(iii) VP produced films can participate but will not be eligible for cash awards.
(iv) International producers / directors can submit the films for screening only in Focus category.
(v) Applicants can send any number of entries in each category.
(vi) Entries made in any Indian languages are entertained. However, film submitted for scrutiny should be either in English or in Hindi. Film produced in other languages may either be dubbed or sub-titled in English.
(vii) Vigyan Prasar and NCSM will have right to telecast the awarded films as and when required for educational purpose and retain the programme CD.
(viii) Vigyan Prasar will not be responsible for any damage to DVD/CD submitted by the participants.
(ix) It is essential to fill all the columns in the entry form, failing which the entry is liable to be rejected.
Separate entry form should be filled for each entry accompanied by the following :
a. Two copies of film in DVD or CD using PAL 625/50 standard.
b. A soft copy (write in CD) of the script in English or Hindi
c. Undertaking that the film does not violate the copyright/ intellectual property law should be given. In case such a violation is reported at a later date the awardee will be held liable for any legal consequences and have to return the cash prize, trophy and certificate and will be barred in future from participating in the competition.
d. Soft & hard copy of synopsis of the film should be submitted in the specific format prescribed by Vigyan Prasar.
e. Soft copy (write in CD) of any three stills of the film and two stills of the director with identification label. All entries for the competition should reach to Science Film Festival Cell, Vigyan Prasar, A-50 Institutional Area, Sector 62, NOIDA, UP 201309 by 5 pm 15th December 2013.
