1st National Moot Court Competition 2014 :
The 1st Damodaram Sanjivayya National Moot Court Competition, 2014(herein after referred as DSNMC) shall be held on 15th & 16thFebruary, 2014 at DSNLU, Plot No.116, Sector-11, M.V.P Colony, Visakhapatnam-530017, Andhra Pradesh.
Language :
The language of the Competition shall be English.
Eligibility Criteria :
1. Law schools/Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities, recognized by the Bar Council of India, are eligible to participate in the DSNMC. The participants should currently be pursuing their Bachelor’s degree in law i.e., Three Year or Five Year Law Courses. Students who have completed their law courses are not eligible to participate in the competition.
2. Only one team can register from a particular law school/College/ Institution/ University to participate in the DSNMC.
3.There shall be two speakers and one researcher designated for each team. In case of illness of the designated speaker, the researcher may be allowed to argue for the team with prior permission of the DSNMC Committee
Registration :
1. The Participating team shall duly fill the Registration Form provided along with the official rules and send it along with a Registration fee of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only). The Registration fee shall be sent through Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University payable at Visakhapatnam. The last date for receiving the registration form with fee shall be 31st December 2013.
2. The participants are required to submit two passport size photographs of each team member along with the registration form.
3. Each team shall be allotted a Team Code on the receipt of registration fee and form. The Draw of Lots for the Preliminary rounds shall be drawn by the DSNMC Committee on 25th January and the opponent memorial shall be mailed to the respective teams by 30th January 2014.
4. The name of the Institution shall not be disclosed at the time of submission of memorials. Any such disclosure shall lead to disqualification.
Written Submissions/Memorials :
1. All participating teams shall submit 6 sets of written memorials
2. The cover page of memorials for the Informant shall be in blue and the Opposite party shall be in red.
3. The teams shall not indicate their names or the names of their college or the university on memorials. For all communications purposes, the team code shall only be specified.
4. The team code allotted to all teams shall be indicated at top right corner of the memorial, which will be communicated by way of E-mail.
5. All participating teams must submit a soft copy of their memorial in PDF format, for both sides by 11 :59 P.M. IST on or before 20thJanuary, 2014.
6. Teams must also send the hard copies of the memorials (6 sets for the informant and opposite party each) by 30thJanuary, 2014.

Hard copies must be exact prints of the soft copies. Non-compliance with this rule would entail negative marking which may also attract disqualification. Decision in this regard shall be taken by the DSNMC Committee.
8. The written memorials shall conform to the set standards :
1. Written memorials shall be printed on white A4 size paper with black ink and neatly bound. No plastic divider should be used in the memorials.
2. The font of the body of the Memorial must be Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and the font-size of footnotes, if any, must not be less than size 10.
9. Blue Book mode of citation must be followed.
10. Each page must have a margin of at least an inch on all sides.
11. The Memorial should not exceed 25 typed pages (not including the Cover Page) and shall consist of the following parts

** List of Abbreviations
** Index of Authorities
** Statement of Jurisdiction
** Statement of Facts
** Issues Raised
** Summary of arguments
** Arguments Advanced (not Exceeding 15 pages)
** Prayer
Disputes :
1. All queries relating to the Moot Problem may be clarified by sending an email to dsnmc AT dsnlu.ac.in on or before 20th December, 2013.
2. Any dispute about the Moot Court Competition shall be referred to the DSNMC Committee before the end of the competition. In all matters of complaints or disputes, the decision of the DSNMC Committee shall be final.
