3rd ILNU International Moot Court Competition :
The IIMC (ILNU International Moot Court Competition) is a flagship event organized by the Institute of Law, Nirma University annually, since 2012. Now in its 3rd year, this event gives an excellent opportunity to students from various countries to present their legal skills in front of law experts and thus, develop their oral advocacy and mooting skills. This event gives them an opportunity to put theory into practice.
The Second Edition of IIMC was a great success which was organized from 1st to 3rd March, 2013 with active participation from 24 teams. The event was judged by the renowned personalities of legal fraternity. National Law University, Delhi bagged first prize along with cash prize of INR 25,000.
This time the Third Edition of IIMC will be held from 14th-16th February, 2014 at Nirma University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Competition is open to all the students of Law Colleges/institutes/departments/Universities in India and abroad. This year, the moot problem, which is based on International Environmental Law, will present a challenge to the teams which can be surmounted only with acuity, clarity of thought, thorough research, composure along with flawless presentation and eloquence.
The 3 day mooting extravaganza is renowned for its quality of judges which include Hon’ble judges of the Gujarat High Court and the Supreme Court of India, senior counsels, practicing lawyers, professionals and academicians. The final round is presided by an impressive bench of five sitting judges which include two International Dignitaries, one Hon’ble Supreme Court Judge and two professors of Law. Further the cash prize of INR 60,000 offered by the Institute adds more enthusiasm to the event and brings competitive spirit amongst the students.
We are looking forward for your participation in 3rd IIMC, 2014 to be hosted in ILNU’s campus at Ahmedabad. For the duration of the competition we shall host you with the best of our resources and hospitality and shall offer the use of our library, access to various online legal research databases and all other amenities necessary to make it most hospitable event.
Eligibility :
All the College/ University/ Institute/ Faculties offering Students Bachelors Degree in Law (or any equivalent course) in the current academic year are eligible to participate in the Competition.
Each participating University/ Schools/ Faculties/ Institute shall be eligible to send one Team to the Competition. The participating Students must be pursuing full-time Bachelors Degree in Law (LL.B / BL) or equivalent programme
