Applications are invited from Indian Citizens, for recruitment to posts in Pay Band A 5,200 – 20,200 in Southern Railway, against Cultural quota and Scouts & Guides quota for the year 2013 – 2014, as indicated below
1. Quota : CULTURAL
Grade Pay : 1,900/-

Discipline / Details : 1 post – Classical Dance – Male / Female; 1 post – Instrumental ( – Male / Female
2. Quota : SCOUTS & GUIDES
Grade Pay : 1,900/-
No. of post : 02 (Two)
3.Quota : SCOUTS & GUIDES
Grade Pay : 1,800/-
No. of post : 12 (Twelve)
Discipline / Details : 2 posts for each Division, viz., Chennai, Tiruchchirappalli, Madurai, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram and Salem.
Essential Qualification For Cultural Quota : Candidates should possess Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Music from Government recognised Institute.
Desirable Qualification For Cultural Quota :
(i) Experience in the field and performance given on AIR / Doordarshan, etc.
(ii) Prizes won at National level.
Qualifications For Scouts & Guides Quota :
(a) A President’s Scout/Guide/Ranger/Rover (or) Himalayan Wood Badge Holder (or) A pre-HWB trained Scout Leader / Advanced Trained Guider / Leader / Captain.
(b) Should have been an active member of a Scouts organisation for at least 3 (three) years in recent past and should continue to be active;
(c) Should have attended at least one event at National level and one or two events at State Level; (or) Should have a good record of participation in Scouts/Guides at Unit/District level;
Common Conditions For Both Cultural And Scouts & Guides Quota :
Posts And Educational Qualification :
1 FOR NON-TECHNICAL POPULAR CATEGORIES (POSTS WITH GP A 1,900/-): Passed Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. Minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregate is not applicable to SC/ST candidates and to those candidates (irrespective of community), who possess qualifications higher than matriculation such as HSC / Intermediate / Graduation / Post Graduation. (or)
2 FOR TECHNICIAN CATEGORIES (POSTS WITH GP 1,900/-): Act Apprenticeship / ITI. No other qualification including Diploma in Engineering will be accepted as an alternative qualification. Act Apprenticeship / ITI Certificate must be approved by SCVT / NCVT.
3 FOR POSTS WITH GP A 1,800/- (SCOUTS & GUIDES QUOTA ONLY): Minimum 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent at the time of applying.
Age (AS ON 01.01.2014):
Grade Pay : Rs.1,900/- 18 to 30 years
Grade Pay : Rs.1,800/- 18 to 33 years
Examination Fee :Either in the form of Demand Drafts (DD) / Indian Postal Orders (IPO), drawn in favour of ‘Assistant Personnel Officer / Recruitment’, payable at Chennai.
Grade pay of 1,900/- : Rs.40/- (Rupees Forty only)
Grade pay of 1,800/- : 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only)
