Colgate Scholarship :
IDA endeavours to recognize noteable achievement and distinction among its student members by awarding scholarships. A scholarship is an incentive as well as encouragement to meritorious students.
IDA concluded a pact with Colgate about 30 years ago to start IDA-Colgate Scholarships intended to promote the advancement of dental education and clinical research. The purpose of these scholarships is to support dental students who have demonstrated academic excellence in dentistry.
Eligibility :
** The student desirous of getting the Scholarship should be an under graduate student of BDS and an IDA Member.
** Such student should be amongst the first ten rank holders in the respective BDS academic year.
Documents Required :
** Letter of application from the Dean
** Student’s Candidate Profile Form
** Attested Copy of marksheet
** IDA membership number
Rules and Regulations :
** This scholarship will be termed as “IDA-Colgate” scholarship.
** There will be three scholarships of Rs. 2,500/- , Rs 1,500/- , Rs 1,000/- awarded annually to top three student members of IDA securing highest aggregate marks in each Academic year.
** The aforesaid scholarship will be awarded to all the four Academic years of the BDS course.
** The IDA – Colgate Scholarship will be awarded to only those Students who are the members of IDA.
** The students who have cleared the academic examination in the first attempt will only be eligible for this scholarship.
** In case, there are no deserving candidates who are eligible according to conditions, the Scholarships may not be awarded. IDA & Colgate will have the final authority to decide on the grant of scholarships.
** The scholarship amount will be paid during the calendar year in which the student passes the examination and becomes eligible for the scholarship. The amount of scholarship will be handed over by a cheque issued in favour of the selected students along with a certificate of honour which will be sent to their respective Colleges or to the local branch of IDA.
Any violation of the above regulations will automatically disqualify the student.
Date of Submission :
All the details should be submitted to IDA and Colgate Head Office by 30th November every year. Request after that would not be entertained.
Process after submission :
** After receiving requests from the Colleges, IDA would verify the membership status of the students.
** Once the verification is done with IDA, Colgate would process the applications.
** IDA would send the Certificates and IDA-Colgate covering letters for the students to the concerned College or IDA branch.
** We would encourage the Dental Schools to invite the Office Bearers of IDA & Colgate to the Award Ceremony.
