HESP Merit cum Poverty Scholarship 2014 :
Higher Education Scholarship Programme (HESP) Started in 2002, this is a post Matric scholarship Programme wherein meritorious poor, orphans & other destitute are provided higher educational scholarships. On the basis of entrance examination conducted on provincial level in Kashmir, the candidates are shortlisted and later after completing on spot physical verification process with set criteria, the most deserving orphan & destitute meritorious candidates are selected who are provided Rs 5000/- per annum for pursuing their studies. Since 2002, 485 scholarships have been awarded which includes sizeable number of girl students. An amount of nearly Rs 71 Lacs, has been spent under this programme in J&K, till date. In Jammu Division, in first of its kind, 23 candidates including 07 s & 11 non Muslim candidates were selected for the HESP scholarships. During 2012-13 an amount of Rs. 12.00 lacs has been spent under this programme.

Eligibility :
Applicant must have passed 10th standard with 50% in aggregate for general and 45% for orphans and other categories. candidates should be a regular student of higher Secondary part-I (11th) only regarding in any Govt/ recognized private higher Secondary Institution during the current year. average family income from all sources should not exceed Rs, 1000/- per month/ family member.

Necessary Documents :
Prescribed application forms (which are available at Central Office, Zonal Office and districts pffice of JKYF) along with passport size photograph and photocopy of marks certificate of 10th standard.

Venue of Written Test : Old Boys higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar Srinagar.
Result of Written Test : 19.07.2014 (To be published in leading newspaper)
Final Selection List : 18.08.2014 (To be published in leading newspaper)
