Sunday Herald Short Story Competition 2014 :
Sunday Herald announces its Short Story Competition calling young writers to send in their stories not later than June 8, 2014.

Entry Fee :
Entry is free. But the story should come attached with the entry form duly filled.

Word limit : 3,000 words.

Prize Money :
IST : 30000
2ND : 25,000
3RD : 15,000

Conditions of entry :
1. Stories must be the original work of the entrant, in English. Entrants are advised to keep copies, as the hardcopy submitted will not be returned and there will be no acknowledgement of receipt.
2. The story should be printed clearly on A4 sheets and sent along with the entry form (original) duly filled. Photocopied entries will not be entertained.
3. Handwritten entries will not be entertained. Entrants may submit only one story.
4. Entrants should not be less than 17 and more than 50 years of age. They should be residents of Karnataka or Delhi.
5. Entries must be received not later than June 8, 2014.
6. The entries will be judged by an eminent panel ofjury.
7. Results of the competition will be announced in the July 27, 2014 issue of Sunday Herald. Prize winners will be informed separately before that date.
8. Copyright remains with the writer, but entrants are deemed to have assigned first publication rights to Sunday Herald.
9. No correspondence will be entertained regarding the outcome at any stage of the judging process, and the duration of the competition.
10. Submission ofthe entry will be deemed as the unqualified acceptance of the conditions of entry by the entrants.
1 1. Employees of Deccan Herald are not eligible for the competition.
12. Past winners of this competition are not eligible to participate in this contest.
