ONE YEAR LLM ADMISSION, 2014-15
Introduction :
The Department of Law introduce the One year LLM Programme from the academic year, 2013-2014 in the place of existing two year LL.M. Programme. The Department as per guide lines of UGC will offer the Programme in two branches (Corporate and Commercial Law) and (Constitutional and Administrative Law).
Applicability of Rules and Regulations :
The programme is governed as per the rules framed by the University of Pune for Credit and Semester System prevailing in the University of Pune for its Post Graduate Departments with suitable changes by the Department wherever necessary for the implementation of the programme as per the guidelines of the UGC (for one year LL.M).
As directed by the UGC and accepted to modify the Minimum Standards of instruction for the Grant of the Master’s Degree through Formal Education Regulation 2003, the total credits will be that of 24. (Vide clause/rule No. 11 of the UGC letter at Page 5).
Name of the Course : LL.M: (Credit System).
Eligibility: Graduate in law of a statutory University (Bachelor of Laws: 3 years/5 years)
Total Number of Seats: 60 (The total number of seats will be 60 for one year LL.M., in which 30 seats will be allotted to each branch).
Reservation of Seats: 50% seats are reserved for SC, ST, DTNT & OBC, 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped students, 5% seats are reserved for Defence Personnel’s Child / Ex Serviceman Child.
The foreign students shall be admitted as per the norms of the University.
Quota: For other University 30% (As per the University Circular no. 79/ 2013 dated 22/03/2013)
Pattern of Course: Semester
Duration: One Year (Full Time Course)
How to Apply :
1. The Admission shall be on the basis of Merit obtained in the Entrance Test and Interview.
2. The students shall confirm their admission by paying the total fees on or before the prescribed date.
3. Admission of the candidate will be confirmed only if he /she produces the following documents in original and two photocopies of the same
** Proof of date of Birth – SSC Certificate or School / College Leaving Certificate
** Statement of marks of Degree examination
** Caste Certificate in case of reservation category and other fees will be as per the norms of the University
** Transfer Certificate from the Institution studied last.
** Migration Certificate from the University if applicable.
** Gap Certificate (If any Gap in learning).
4. Total tuition fees will be Rs. 45,000/- for the course.
5. As per the new regulations the LL.M Degree will be awarded with specialisation under the scheme.
6. Ragging in any form is prohibited and is an offence governed by Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999 and UGC Regulations 2009. Ragging within or outside educational institution is prohibited and is an offence.
7. Punishment for ragging is Imprisonment up to 2 years & / or fine up to Rs. 10,000/- convicted of offence of Ragging shall be dismissed from the Department and will not be eligible for admission in any other educational institution for a period of 5year.
8. The University decision shall be final in case of any dispute related to admission
9. Course will consist 24 credits
The examination, evaluation and other norms of improvement of grades will be governed as per the norms of the credit system of the University Departments.
Award of the Degree: As per the new regulations the LL.M. Degree will be awarded with specialization under the Scheme.
