ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.F.Sc., DEGREE COURSE :
** Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu State alone are eligible to apply.
** A pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / CBSE / any other examination recognized as equivalent

AGE LIMIT :
Candidates applying for the course should not have completed the age mentioned below as on 01-07-2014:
Candidates of Scheduled Caste (SC) / SCA / Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories : No age limit
Other candidates : 21 Years

Submission of Application :
Candidates should submit applications only through online www.tnfu.org.in on or before 10.06.2014, 5.00 p.m.

PAYMENT OF FEES AND REGISTRATION AFTER SELECTION AND ADMISSION :
A candidate who has been selected for admission to B.F.Sc. degree course after paying counselling fee ` 1000/- has to pay the semester fees and other admission fees only on the commencement day of the classes at the Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi. Hence the above fees paid, except caution money deposit are not refundable.
(i) In all cases, Laboratory Fund is non-refundable.

INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES TO FILL IN THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM :
Candidates need to fill in and submit applications online on or before 10.06.2014, 5.00 p.m.
Candidates should read the Prospectus carefully before filling up and submitting the application online.
All fields in the application should be correctly and completely filled in.

Candidates should ensure that correct particulars of date of birth, community, marks and nativity are furnished by him/her in the application. On scrutiny, if any of these particulars furnished in the application are found incorrect:
I. He/she will forfeit the admission to the course itself no matter at what stage of the course he/she may be at that time.
II. He/she will be debarred from pursuing any course of study of this University and other Universities of Tamil Nadu for a period of three years.
III. Legal action will be initiated against him/her for furnishing wrong information. Admission is subject to verification of mark certificates by the Director of Government Examinations and if the mark certificate is found to be bogus, admission is liable for cancellation besides criminal action being taken.

Applications can be submitted online only after taking a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/-only for SC/ST candidates) taken in the name of The Finance Officer, TNFU, Nagapattinam. (Payable at Nagapattinam) from any nationalised bank and making necessary entries in applications regarding the details of the DD in the column provided.

The D.D. with the Login ID and name of the candidate written on the backside of the demand draft should be sent to the The Chairman, Admission Committee (UG), Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi-628 008 on or before 10.06.2014.

When the online application is properly filled and submitted ,the candidate will get a SMS that their application was submitted successfully. Once the DD is received a payment confirmation mail /SMS will be sent to the candidates e-mail / Phone No. that the candidates’ application is accepted, payment received and the application download link is activated

Only after the receipt of the above SMS, the application in the form of PDF file can be generated and using the Login ID the candidate can download and print the application.

Candidates not receiving SMS/e-mail even after successful submission may contact the Admission Committee through e-mail/phone (ugadmission@tnfu.org.in / 0461-2340554 and 04365-240448).

The candidates who had successfully downloaded and printed the online application have to affix a recently taken passport size photograph in the space provided and get it signed by a Group A or Group B officer or the Head of the Institute last studied. The candidate and his/her parent/guardian must sign the declaration in the space provided in the application. The candidate must bring this downloaded, photo affixed and duly signed application and the following certificates* at the time of counselling only along with originals and two sets of attested copies.
*1). HSC / CBSE / other equivalent mark sheet, 2). Transfer Certificate, 3). Community Certificate** (For OC candidates community certificate not required) 4). Certificates for Special categories, if required, 5). Nativity Certificate if required 6). First Graduate Certificate and Joint declaration form, if required.
**Community Certificate is subject to verification by the District Vigilance Committee of the district concerned and if the community of the candidate is found to be untrue, admission is liable for cancellation besides criminal action being taken.

In case of revaluation / re-totalling in respect of qualifying examination, the attested copy of revaluation / re-totalling mark certificate should be sent to the Chairman, Admission Committee (UG), Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi – 628 008 immediately. Mention the Login ID, Name of the applicant already submitted through online.

No addition, deletion or alteration of any particulars relating to the application is permitted after the online submission of the application through online.

No correspondence will be entertained in any form.

Important Note :
** The contents in the application form and prospectus are subject to modification or revision that may be issued from time to time by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
** The candidates, who have not studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standards in Tamil Nadu, should produce a certificate of permanent residence in Tamil Nadu in the prescribed format (Certificate No. I of the prospectus) from the competent authority.
** The exact date of counselling notification will be published in the University website, tnfu.org.in, and also intimated to the individuals through e-mail who are called for counselling.
