BIMSTEC Centre for Weather and Climate is being established at the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), a Subordinate office under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India. The main objectives of the BIMSTEC Centre are to develop improved weather and climate products for societal application; capacity building in the field of weather and climate; promote and encourage cooperation between BIMSTEC member countries in identified areas of weather prediction and climate modeling and enhancement of observing capability in the BIMSTEC region; among others.
The BIMSTEC Centre for Weather and Climate at NCMRWF is looking for following Project Scientist “C” (Three posts) for engagement on contract basis till March 2017, subject to satisfactory progress of work to be reviewed at the end of each financial year. All the positions are for the Indian nationals only.

Age Limit (as on closing date): should not exceed 35 years
Essential Qualification :
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Meteorology / Oceanography / Atmospheric Science / Physics/ Geophysics (with specialization in
Meteorology) / Mathematics / Applied Mathematics/ Statistics from a recognized university with at least first class (60%) at Post Graduation level. AND
Three years experience in the field of Atmospheric Science/ Meteorology and familiarity with UNIX and Fortran. OR
M.Tech degree in the relevant field as per (i) above and two years research experience in the relevant field with familiarity in UNIX and Fortran. OR
Ph.D in the relevant field as per (i) above with familiarity in UNIX and Fortran.
Desirable: Work experience in numerical modeling of the atmosphere, Probabilistic Weather Prediction, Regional Climate Modeling, Statistical/ Dynamical downscaling.
