Capture Krishna International Photography Contest :
Capture Krishna Photography Contest is an International Photography Contest organized by the ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Temple, Bangalore. There is no entry fee for the contest.
Eligibility :
All genre photographers can participate in this contest. The minimum age for participation is 16 years.
Categories :
** ISKCON Bangalore’s 17th Annual Brahmotsava Festival
** ISKCON temples around the world
** Vaishnava (Vishnu, Narasimha, Krishna, Varaha, Venkateshwara, etc) temples around the world. Photographs of temples in Hampi, Belur, Vrindavana, etc can also be submitted.
Themes :
** Deity in the temple
** Ceremonies and festivals celebrated in the temple
** Cultural Programmes like traditional dance, dance-drama, classical music concert
** Temple architecture
** Candid (connected to devotion to Vishnu)
Timeline :
** Apr 1, 2014, 10 AM IST – Apr 8, 2014, 6 PM IST – Online registrations for Category 1 for ID cards
** Apr 8, 2014, 10 AM IST – Contest opens for all categories
** Apr 26, 2014, 11 PM IST – Contest closes for all categories
** May 1, 2014 – Prize Announcement
** May 13, 2014 – Prize Distribution Ceremony
Award & Prizes :
** The best photograph shall be awarded the Capture Krishna Photography Award 2014.
** Top 3 winners in each category shall also be awarded.
** All the participants will receive a Capture Krishna 2014 Souvenir.
Submissions :
** Participants can choose any one of the categories and submit the photographs pertaining to that category.
** Participants can submit in any of the 5 themes under the category, subject to a maximum of 15 photographs.
** The same photograph or a portion of the photograph already submitted cannot be re-submitted under a different theme.
** Photograph should be submitted along with the description, story or technique of the photograph.
** Photographs shall be screened by the committee before approval for competing in the contest.
** Participants must provide high resolution images. File size : Up to 20 MB, File format: JPEG/300 dpi, Color Mode: sRGB

Terms and conditions :
** Entry is restricted to original photographs to which the participants hold the rights.
** Photographs taken from mobile phones, tab, or any such digital device other than the camera shall not be entertained in the competition.
** Digitally retouched images shall not be accepted in the competition. However editing of brightness, contrast levels, curves, color correction, noise reduction and cropping for composition using any photo editing software is allowed as long as the originality of the photograph is not disturbed. Image and the subject shall not be mutilated. HDR images are also accepted.
** Photographs with the watermark / signature of the name of the photographer (or a group of photographers), stamped on the photograph, will not be allowed in the competition.
** Photographs shall be judged based on composition, creativity, lighting and story.
** The temple shall have the right of reproduction of all the submitted pictures.
** The decision of the organizers shall be final and binding on all contestants.

Photography at ISKCON Bangalore :
** Participants who wish to participate in Category 1 (Brahmotsava Festival at ISKCON Bangalore) should register themselves to obtain the ID cards. Registrations shall begin from Apr 1, 2014.
** The photographers shall abide by the following in the temple premises :
** Wearing ID cards visibly is mandatory.
** Smoking is prohibited.
** Consumption of intoxicants is prohibited. (No paan & alcoholic drinks)
** Wearing slippers/footwear is prohibited in certain places. Participants should leave their footwear in the footwear stand only.
** Entry to the restricted areas in the temple like pujari rooms, altars, office premises, etc where photography is prohibited.
** Consumption of fish/meat/eggs is prohibited in the temple.
** Accommodation and food shall not be provided. Participants shall make their own arrangements. We have a Guest House in the temple, in which accommodation can be booked, subject to availability of rooms. we have 2 restaurants – Annakuta and Higher Taste.
