Doctoral Programme 2014 -15 :
Doctoral Programme :
The Doctoral Programme in the Institute is designed to educate scholars who make a difference through rigorous academic research. The programme offers students opportunities for advanced studies and research in different specializations related to Engineering, Science and Humanities. The Programme aims to prepare students for careers in teaching and research in related disciplines and for careers in the government, in industry, and in other organizations that require advanced analytical and research capabilities.
The Doctoral Programme is a four year structured programme. The Institute takes Doctoral supervision very seriously, and offer also support for developing teaching skills, academic publications and postdoctoral careers. The focus of the doctoral programme is to develop professional academic researchers.
Research scholars are involved in seminars, working groups and many academic events within and across departments where they actively participate and present their work.

Research Facilities : The Institute provides good academic and research infrastructure. Some key highlights of such infrastructure are:
** High Performance Computing Lab
** A good collection of scientific computing softwares
** Laboratories for experimental Research
** A large collection of Academic Journals
The Institute proposes to collaborate with reputed institutes of Research and Higher Learning in geographic vicinity to augment research facilities to be made available to its scholars

Eligibility : The eligibility criteria for admission to Ph.D. programme are as follows:
Must possess minimum qualification in relevant discipline and minimum CGPA / % Marks.

** Institutes of Repute are IITs, NITs, IIITs. Other Institutes are included in this list by the Institute Academic Committee (IAC) on case to case basis.
** A concession of 5% in marks or 0.5 in CGPA may be given to SC/ST candidates.
** Students with degrees in one discipline can enrol for Ph.D. in another discipline if such discipline is considered relevant by the Institute Academic Committee. Relevant discipline matrix is given below.

Fee : The draft/pay order of Rs. 1000.00 (Rupees One Thousand only) should be made favouring “IIIT Bhubaneswar” drawn by any scheduled bank payable at Bhubaneswar

Selection Procedure : The Selection Procedure involves the following:
1 Short-listing of candidates will be done based on the academic performances.
2 Those short listed will under-go a Written Test and Interview to be conducted at IIIT Bhubaneswar.
3 The Final Selection will be done on the basis of academic performance, performance in the Written Test and the Interview

Fee Structure:
Admission Fee: Rs. 30,000.00 (One Time)
Semester Fee: Rs. 25,000.00 per Semester
Above fees are excluding hostel and other fees

How to Apply :
i) The candidate is required to fill the application online by accessing the Institute’s website against official advertisement for doctoral programme

ii) You are required to send the following by speed post/hand delivery so as to reach IIIT Bhubaneswar latest by 15th May, 2014.
Printed copy of the application form submitted on line
1 A recent passport size photograph, pasted on the application form.
2 The draft/online transaction slip of Rs. 1000.00 (Rupees One Thousand only). Please write your name and application id on the back of the draft / online transaction slip.
3 You can verify the receipt of the draft / online transaction payment by IIIT Bhubaneswar.
4 Your admit card will be sent to you through e-mail, once your draft has been received by IIIT Bhubaneswar. You are required to paste your photograph in the space provided in the admit card and bring the same for the written test. (You shall paste the copy of the same photograph already sent along with the copy of the on line application form).
5 Note that candidates wishing to apply in more than one disciplines are required to apply separately.
